WAY is changing the way students are being taught by embracing the way they already learn.</p> <p>As WAY Academy continues to grow in size and impact, we are always looking for great people to join our team and mission.</p> <p>WAY Academy Non-Negotiables:</p> <p>A history of achieving excellence</p> <p>A strong desire to work as part of a collaborative team</p> <p>Belief in WAY's approach to student-centered learning</p> <p>A professional history of over-delivery</p> <p>Location: Positin available at WAY Academy Southwest and WAY Academy Detroit</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>High School Diploma or Equivalent, Preferred Experience working with ELL children population.</p> <p>Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours) OR Obtain an associate's degree (or higher) OR receive a passing score on an MDE approved Basic Skills Examaination.</p> <p>MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:</p> <p>Assist General Education staff with scaffolding the instruction of students</p> <p>Develop appropriate relationships with students and colleagues</p> <p>Be open-minded and participative in all aspects of the school</p> <p>Take time to get to know each other, encourage networking, collegiality, mutual support, and deep individual and collective reflection among the staff</p> <p>Support struggling students and challenge strong students</p> <p>Assess student performance on a regular basis and provide frequent feedback & progress reports in accordance with policies</p> <p>Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, self, equipment, materials, and facilities in order to provide a safe learning environment</p> <p>Promptly respond to parents' questions and concerns</p> <p>Encourage parent participation</p> <p>Provide meaningful, personalized comments</p> <p>Act as an advocate for the student, both socially and academically</p> <p>Maintain and improve competence through participation in professional development</p> <p>Integrate parents and community partners into coursework and the school environment</p> <p>Attend all required meetings and serve on committees as required</p> <p>Salary: Annually salary with single person benefit and a personal and hoilday package after 90 days of successful employment.</p> <p>EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER</p> <p>W-A-Y is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
