<p>A Lead Facilities Technician is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations, coordinating repair activities, and ensuring facility systems remain safe, efficient, and fully operational. This role includes hands-on troubleshooting and repair, preventive maintenance scheduling, and providing technical guidance to maintenance staff. The Lead Facilities Technician acts as the primary point of contact for building maintenance needs and plays a key role in workflow management, safety compliance, and asset reliability.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Oversee and delegate maintenance tasks to technicians, ensuring timely and high-quality completion. </li><li>Perform skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing systems. </li><li>Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life. </li><li>Monitor building systems, including fire safety, lighting, power distribution, HVAC controls, and access systems. </li><li>Maintain accurate service logs, work orders, and asset records through CMMS or maintenance software. </li><li>Train and mentor maintenance team members to improve skillsets and operational efficiency. </li><li>Coordinate and supervise contractors, vendors, and outside service professionals. </li><li>Respond to urgent maintenance needs and facility emergencies, ensuring safe and rapid resolution. </li><li>Inspect facilities regularly to identify safety hazards, performance issues, or required repairs. </li><li>Assist in budgeting, parts ordering, inventory management, and cost-saving maintenance strategies. </li><li>Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, building codes, and company safety standards. </li></ul> <p>Skills & Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Strong technical understanding of building systems </li><li>Electrical, HVAC, mechanical & plumbing troubleshooting </li><li>Leadership, communication & delegation abilities </li><li>Proficiency with maintenance management software (CMMS) </li><li>Blueprint/schematic reading & diagnostic skills </li><li>Preventive maintenance planning </li><li>Vendor/contractor oversight </li><li>Safety & compliance awareness </li></ul> <p>Typical Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>3-7; years of facilities or maintenance experience </li><li>Prior leadership or lead-tech role preferred </li><li>Trade certifications in HVAC/EPA, electrical, or mechanical are a plus </li><li>Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety protocols </li><li>Ability to lift, climb, operate power tools & work in varied environments </li></ul>
