You will help patients feel calm and comfortable before and during their tests while providing an efficient and professional lab experience. On our team, you will have numerous opportunities to enhance your skills and explore professional development courses offered by Cleveland Clinic.</p> <p>A caregiver in this position works day/evening/night/weekend, 6:30am-5:00pm.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Perform specimen collection, initial sample preparation and delivery of specimens.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with patient registration, address patient concerns and coordinate appointment schedules.</p> </li><li> <p>Collect demographic information from patients, including insurance or payment information.</p> </li><li> <p>Verify patient demographics, test information, sample identification and specimen type.</p> </li><li> <p>Collect biological specimens by venipuncture and micro collection techniques.</p> </li><li> <p>Observe patients for adverse effects and report to the supervisor.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare samples for testing.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify, accession and transport specimens.</p> </li><li> <p>Answer incoming calls and assist callers.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate records regarding the collection of data.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a clean, neat work area and ensure appropriate levels of inventory.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the training and/or orientation of new caregivers.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend in-services, continuing education and training programs and meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>Complete mandatory education and training and maintain certifications and licensure.</p> </li><li> <p>Float to other locations as needed.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or GED</p> </li><li> <p>One year of experience with specimen collection and laboratory techniques and procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification upon or within 90 days of hire</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of basic office equipment and procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in the use of PC software applications</p> </li><li> <p>Strong typing, data entry and interpersonal skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to travel from site to site as required</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or a similar formal training program</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with patient registration and insurance billing</p> </li></ul> <p>Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
