It currently specializes in transportation, petrochemical, power, commercial, residential, and ports and rail projects.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Position Summary...The Base Foreman is a mid-level position that reports to the crew Superintendent. The Base Foreman coordinates and oversees the construction and quality of asphalt paving. The Base Foreman is directly responsible for the overall effectiveness and timeliness of all assigned asphalt projects.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>40% Management</p> <ul> <li>Provides management and oversight for all decisions regarding asphalt paving projects, personnel, equipment, problem resolutions, and overall effectiveness of projects. </li><li>Monitor labor, haul, equipment production, and cost for each project. </li><li>Plans and coordinates production on a daily basis and plans work approximately 1 week in advance. </li><li>Ensures all timesheets are entered and audited accurately. </li><li>Plan, assign, coordinate, and evaluate crews. </li><li>Interpret company policies for workers and enforces safety regulations </li><li>Lead daily Task Analysis Review (TAR) meeting the with crew before the start of the shift. </li></ul> <p>30% Operations</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment. </li><li>Maintains accurate record-keeping of projects. </li><li>Tracks production. </li><li>Inspects equipment ensure operators maintain equipment and document usage. </li><li>Inspect work areas to determine the type of work required and the materials and equipment used. </li><li>Interprets job orders to workers and assigns duties. </li><li>Trains new employees </li></ul> <p>25% Safety</p> <ul> <li>Ensure the safety of the crew and the public. </li><li>Comply with all safety initiatives, protocols, and procedures. </li></ul> <p>5% Other duties as assigned</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Required Education:</p> <ul> <li>High school/GED </li></ul> <p>Required Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Three (3) years of experience in Civil and/or Road Construction in a lead or supervisory position. </li></ul> <p>Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:</p> <p>Advanced:</p> <ul> <li>Problem analysis and problem-solving skills </li><li>Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization </li><li>Ability to work under pressure </li><li>Interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information </li></ul> <p>Proficient:</p> <ul> <li>Organizational & time management skills </li><li>Written and oral communication skills </li></ul> <p>Basic</p> <ul> <li>Working knowledge of and proficiency with a variety of computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database software applications </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Preferred Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Four (4) years of experience in Civil and/or Road COnstruction in a lead or supervisory position. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Experience with B2W and Success Factors </li></ul> <p>Physical and Mental Demands</p> <p>The following apply to all full-time positions within Barriere Construction Company A CRH Company.</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work in excess of 40 hours a week, which may include nights and weekends </li><li>Ability to view a computer screen for long periods of time </li><li>Ability to function in a high-pressure, stressful environment and meet stringent deadlines </li><li>Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment </li><li>Ability to travel as required and work at different locations as required </li><li>Ability to read, write and speak English at the level equal to or greater than the national standards for a college graduate </li></ul> <p>What CRH Offers You</p> <ul> <li>Highly competitive base pay </li><li>Comprehensive medical, dental and disability benefits programs </li><li>Group retirement savings program </li><li>Health and wellness programs </li><li>A diverse and inclusive culture that values opportunity for growth, development, and internal promotion </li></ul> <p>About CRH</p> <p>CRH has a long and proud heritage.
