Orange County Government is committed to providing equal opportunity in employment and services to all individuals.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>General Functions</p> <p>Professional position responsible for assisting in the strategic development and implementation of transportation management initiatives that impact the Orange County Convention Center. Maintains liaison and coordinates efforts with community agencies to represent the Convention Center and promote relevant transportation related programs in the community. Serves as the assistant supervisor for Dock operations and oversight of external directional signage. Direct supervision is provided from OCCC Assistant Transportation Supervisor.</p> <p>Representative Duties/Assignments</p> <ul> <li>Serves as special projects coordinator related to transportation initiatives. </li><li>Identifies solutions and coordinates efforts to meet ongoing Convention Center transportation needs and issues. </li><li>Performs long-term event forecasting to identify and mitigate transportation challenges, optimize traffic flow during peak event periods, and plan for high-impact or atypical event activity. </li><li>Coordinates with state and local agencies to obtain assets, operational support, and planning information needed to execute regional traffic management strategies and enhance event transportation planning. </li><li>Collaborates with various stakeholders (public and private) to develop policies, procedures, and programs addressing transportation issues impacting the Convention Center. </li><li>Participates in the development of OCCC capital improvement projects affecting transportation. </li><li>Tracks and evaluates ongoing infrastructure improvements, agency work programs (e.g., FDOT, MetroPlan Orlando), and progress on major infrastructure projects to ensure up-to-date awareness of regional transportation developments. </li><li>Develops internal readiness policy and plans for future transit implementations and participates in the development of transit projects in the International Drive District. </li><li>Develops, implements, and maintains comprehensive systems for tracking projects across the entire section to ensure consistency, visibility, and progress monitoring. </li><li>Supports the development of transportation-related procurement solicitations for the OCCC and manages vendor performance and compliance under active contracts. </li><li>Assists the Transportation Supervisor in attending internal or external meetings as needed. </li><li>Ability to collect, interpret, and utilize operational data to support effective decision-making and process improvements. </li><li>Participates on assigned advisory boards. </li><li>Administers the OCCC Transportation Systems Management & Operations (TSM&O) program including the center's dynamic message system, smart work zone initiatives, and Waze for Cities coordination. </li><li>Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in Transportation, Public Administration or a closely related field and four years experience working with issues related to transportation management programs involving large complexes or facilities.</p> <p>Preferences</p> <p>Ability to establish relationships and work effectively with key representatives of public and private organizations to advance transportation initiatives.</p> <p>Experience working with ArcGIS</p> <p>Application Deadline</p> <p>Open Date: 06/24/2025</p> <p>Close Date: 07/07/2025</p> <p>This posting is subject to close without prior notice.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Pay Grade: 019 - From $32.75 to $42.59</p> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt</p> <p>Placement based on Education and Experience</p> <p>Benefits</p> <ul> <li>10 paid holidays andup to 2 floating holidays annually. </li><li>18 days paid time off per year. </li><li>Longevity bonus based on years of service. </li><li>6 days of paid TERM (sick) time annually. </li><li>Low-cost medical, dental, vision, additional life insurance. </li><li>Free basic life, long term disability, and employee assistance for all the family members effective on day one. </li><li>Participation in the Florida Retirement System. </li><li>Employee assistance program includes multiple free one on one sessions with licensed counselors and online tools for legal advice, financial planning, personal life balance, etc. </li><li>Free access to Wellworks gyms and OrangeCounty Recreation Centers. </li><li>Free onsite wellness coaching, including dietician and nurse. </li><li>Tuition reimbursement program. </li><li>Earn service time to forgive student loans. </li></ul> <p>Disclaimer: Benefits mayvary for employees under collective bargaining agreements.</p> <p>For more information on Benefits visit - https://www.ocfl.net/EmploymentVolunteerism/EmployeeBenefits.aspx</p> <p>Veterans Preference</p> <p>If you are claiming Veterans' Preference, you are responsible for providing the required eligibility documentation by the closing date of the posting.
