<p>The Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the academic area, serving faculty, students, and affiliated personnel with a wide range of administrative needs. This position provides direct support to the Area Chair, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, coordinating conferences and events, assisting visiting faculty and scholars, and preparing communications on behalf of the academic area.</p> <p>As a key representative of the academic area, the Administrative Assistant acts as a liaison between the Area Chair and various internal and external stakeholders-including faculty, academic programs, and the Kenan-Flagler Business School Dean's Office. The position is also responsible for overseeing essential business functions such as developing and maintaining the area's annual budget, processing invoices and reconciliations, managing procurement, and ensuring the effective stewardship of area resources.
