<p>Workweek</p> <p>Schedule dependent upon assigned classes. Salaries are dependent upon education and semesters taught at MCC per the MCC Adjunct Faculty Agreement 24/25.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>This division is home to the following: Emergency Medical Services</p> <p>Our instructors collaborate with Northwestern Medicine and within the College as discipline experts, helping EMS programming reach its strategic goals through active participation in college committees and by promoting the College to future students throughout our community.</p> <p>MCC instructors are higher-education professionals who champion student learning. They engage and inspire students, applying innovative teaching and learning pedagogies in instruction. They assess student learning to ensure students success, staying abreast of trends in the discipline. Our instructors collaborate within the College as discipline experts, helping the College reach its strategic goals through active participation in college committees and by promoting the College to future students throughout our community.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities</p> <p>Including but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Provide instruction in the EMS program offered through McHenry County College under the oversight of the McHenry Western Lake County EMS System, for the purpose of eligibility for initial licensure, continuing education, and professional growth in accordance with IDPH Rules and Regulations and the National EMS Education Standards </li><li>Teach courses as assigned by the College. </li><li>Available to teach daytime, evening, or weekend classes, as needed </li><li>Available for student conferences either before or after class, and by college email if necessary </li><li>Develop syllabus using MCC syllabus Template </li><li>Work cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the College in striving for educational excellence </li><li>Conduct regular assessment of student learning </li><li>Maintain and submit accurate student and course-related paperwork and data needed for college purposes in a timely fashion </li><li>Document and report attendance daily and maintain and submit accurate attendance records weekly </li><li>Submit grade reports electronically by the required date </li><li>Utilize a variety of pedagogical techniques to meet the diverse needs of our student population </li><li>Utilize computer-based instruction and databases when necessary </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Associate's or bachelor's degree in health sciences or related field </li><li>2,000 hours of ED/EMS work experience </li><li>Current Illinois licensure as an EMT </li><li>IDPH recognition as an EMS Lead Instructor, or ability to obtain within 6 months </li><li>Ability to obtain current EMS System Protocol Competency </li><li>Experience teaching EMS courses </li><li>Course specific minimum qualifications(Download PDF reader)are approved annually by the Board of Trustees and are available in all Academic Division Offices. </li><li>Demonstrated teaching experience is preferred. </li><li>Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds. </li><li>Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. </li></ul>
