If you are hard-working, self-motivated and looking for a new and exciting career opportunity, apply today!</p> <p>PRIMARY PURPOSE:</p> <p>The Senior Process Engineer is a high-impact position that will develop, maintain & document robust manufacturing & fill/assembly procedures based on formulation & equipment, lead in the making of pilot, first production & validation batches, and participate in line trials. will provide guidance, support and leadership to other Process Engineers, Jr Process Engineers, and Technical Report Writers and develop a focused effort to continual process improvements. Provide engineering services for pilot batches, validation, and commercial product support and capital projects.</p> <p>Candidate must have experience with colloid chemistry and have manufacturing experience with lotions, creams, and gels.</p> <p>MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Liaise between R&D, Manufacturing and Quality Control to ensure product integrity and quality </li><li>Develop, maintain & document manufacturing & filling procedures </li><li>Work closely with R&D Chemists to transpose lab batch process to manufacturing batch process </li><li>Validate & approve manufacturing procedures in ERP system </li><li>Work closely with manufacturing to maximize efficiency, repeatability & assist with training </li><li>Primary representative for pilots, first production & validation batch & fill processing </li><li>Support filling operations, as needed </li><li>Develop individuals in our process engineering department. </li><li>Active participant in of pilot batch life cycle </li><li>Maintain pilot status/prepare for production meetings </li><li>Prepare blending, filling and packaging Batch Records </li><li>Observe and optimize blending and filling of pilot batches </li><li>Provide engineering (technical) support for commercial production problems (product manufacturing/packaging and/or equipment) </li><li>Develop/write/execute protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) for equipment and product validation </li><li>Designs and implements manufacturing processes, equipment (from pilot to fully operational) for complex products </li><li>May supervise/direct/train entry level engineers </li><li>Develops and approves technical specifications for equipment purchase and validation </li><li>Makes decisions with designated assignments that influence the goals of the department </li><li>Interacts regularly with senior technical peers and colleagues </li><li>Demonstrates leadership skills (project team leader, project manager, technical supervisor, etc.) </li><li>Completes assignments in more than one functional area (process, project, etc.) </li><li>Other functions as required </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATION:</p> <ul> <li>Required </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Engineering. </li><li>5 + years' experience in Chemical Manufacturing </li><li>Background in or working knowledge of chemical manufacturing industry </li><li>Preferred Additional </li><li>Background in or working knowledge of Pharmaceutical industry and cGMP' preferable </li><li>Contract Manufacturing Experience </li><li>High volume enterprise </li></ul> <p>CRITICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates strong technical and/or regulatory expertise and ability to adapt to changing circumstances </li><li>Excellent communication skills </li><li>Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment including a respirator, gloves, and eye protection </li><li>Mental and visual skills are required as operations need to perform work dealing primarily with preparing/analyzing data and figures. </li><li>Ability to perform work in a manufacturing environment where there is exposure to occupational hazards. </li><li>Must be able to work extended hours on evenings and weekends as required. </li><li>Employee must be punctual and on time. </li><li>Must be capable of detailed record keeping and communicating results to others. </li></ul> <p>COMPUTER SKILLS:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to operate the following office equipment: computer, telephone, photocopier, facsimile, and calculator </li><li>Power Point, Word, Excel and a basic understanding of Microsoft media applications is required. </li></ul> <p>Education and/or Training</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, REQUIRED </li><li>MS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Highly Desired </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to lift and maneuver 40 pounds. </li><li>Must be capable of standing for extended periods of time. </li><li>Must be able to wear personal protection equipment which includes gloves and respirator, when required. </li></ul>
