<p>Description</p> <p>Methods Machine Tools was established in 1958 with three employees and a handful of refurbished machines. Since then, the company has become one of the largest privately owned machine tool importers in North America.</p> <p>Methods designs and implements custom machining setups, including machine tool selection, automation integration, and turnkey automation cells. The corporate campus in Sudbury, Mass., comprises a showroom/technical center, which contains automation, applications, and a full range of cutting-edge machines. Methods has more than 300 employees, seven technology centers, one high precision machining center, and has installed more than 45,000 machines throughout North America.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Assist in the design and development of manufacturing processes to achieve customer's goals and expectations on test cuts, training programs, product development, trade shows and turnkey applications using state of the art CNC machining equipment and secondary operations.</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop specifications and performance requirements for industrial equipment. </li><li>Calculates cost analysis for integrating new machinery and equipment into the manufacturing process. </li><li>Uses programming knowledge and experience to adapt equipment to specific job applications. </li><li>Prepare operating instructions and programs for equipment. </li><li>Oversees installation of machinery and equipment to ensure they function according to specifications. </li><li>Evaluates machinery to ensure it has the capability to complete the desired functions. </li><li>Analyzes alternative techniques and methods and recommends changes to equipment or procedures as needed. </li><li>Establish schedule of procedures and maintenance routines to ensure equipment operates efficiently. </li><li>Shares technical information and training with other departments. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Skill/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Extensive knowledge of engineering and programming including electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming. </li><li>Proficient with computer industrial design systems. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. </li><li>Proficient with computer design systems and Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science required; Master's degree preferred. </li><li>Four years of relevant experience, preferably in application engineering, highly preferred. </li><li>Design experience and development of programmed applications highly preferred. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>None </li></ul> <p>Travel Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Regional Travel, up to 50% </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. </li><li>Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time. </li><li>Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the industrial facility. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>This job description is designed to provide an overview of basic skills, experiences and education required to perform the job and is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee to perform the essential functions of the job.
