We are looking for a Summer School Coordinator (Elementary) is who is ready to inspire, challenge, and connect with students during our Summer Program.</p> <p>Interview Process: If selected for an interview, you will be invited to participate in an in person interview. Please apply by March 10th, 2026 for best consideration.</p> <p>Location: Mountain View Elementary</p> <p>Training Date: June 20th, 2026</p> <p>Dates: Summer School Dates: 6/22/2026 - 7/23/2026; (Monday through Thursday, no summer school on Fridays). Start date will be as soon as possible to prepare for planning for the Summer Program.</p> <p>Hours: Hours will vary. Estimated up to 6 hours per week from March 2026 to the end of the school year for planning. During Summer Program, 6.5 hours per day. 8 hours after summer program ends to complete reporting requirements and pack materials.</p> <p>Salary: $12,000 stipend</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>Summer School Coordinator provides leadership and coordination of district-wide summer K-4 programming in reading, mathematics, and social emotional learning. Working under limited supervision, the coordinator will prepare for summer program, provide administrative oversight, monitor program outcomes, and analyze the effectiveness of the program..</p> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must be a current Shelton School District Teacher or Administrator. </li><li>Related experience and certification in Elementary Education. </li><li>Administrator Certification preferred. </li><li>Must possess valid teaching certificate. </li><li>Ability to use technology for curriculum, instruction, assessment, and communications. </li><li>Knowledge of research and best practices in teaching struggling students, and familiarity with grade level standards and curriculum. </li><li>Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written forms to a variety of audiences, train/coach teachers in the effective implementation of summer interventions, assess and report student progress in various content areas, and communicate with parents and families regarding summer school issues. </li><li>Possession of a positive attitude. </li><li>Ability to collaborate with peers and administration. </li><li>Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with other staff, students, and families. </li><li>Regular attendance required. </li><li>Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Develop and disseminate summer school communications. </li><li>Supervise and evaluate performance of summer school certificated and classified staff. </li><li>Provide orientation and training to summer school staff to ensure a safe, healthy, productive learning environment, including training on procedures for emergencies and/or crisis response. </li><li>Oversee planning in collaboration with certificated staff and the Teaching and Learning Department. </li><li>Manage student attendance and discipline. </li><li>Regularly monitor classroom activities to ensure alignment to standards and district-provided resources. </li><li>Coordinate baseline assessment data and monitor student progress and achievement. </li><li>Work with building staff to identify students who qualify for summer school services and facilitate communication with classroom teachers, tribal tutors, and families to enroll eligible students. </li><li>Schedule students in appropriate classes. </li><li>Work with Transportation Department to arrange transportation for summer school eligible students. </li><li>Work with Food Service Department to arrange summer feeding program at summer school site. </li><li>Work with maintenance staff regarding facilities issues. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul>
