<p>JOB INFORMATION</p> <p>This is a part-time hourly pool. Applications are collected for possible immediate, or future college vacancies. This type of employment is temporary and often sporadic. You may only be contacted if a review of your application results in the intent to pursue your candidacy.</p> <p>This position supports the Automotive Vocational Training program at the Oregon State Penitentiary, working with Adults in Custody to complete Chemeketa's Automotive Entry Level Technician Certificate and then complete a year of on-the-job training prior to their release. Position is located in the Oregon State Penitentiary, working with Adults in Custody. Assists in the preparation for instruction under the direction of the assigned instructional specialist </li><li>Assists in identifying student processes in relation to program time lines </li><li>Ensures safe working practices </li><li>Assists in the instruction of proper use and care of tools </li><li>Assists in ensuring that class endings are orderly and complete, and that tools and supplies are returned to the proper storage </li><li>Assists in the preparation of facilities and materials for instruction </li><li>Assists in maintaining clean work areas and classrooms </li><li>Assists in the distribution and maintenance of supplies used in the training area </li><li>Drives to pick up parts and supplies when needed </li><li>Upholds all relevant Department of Corrections rules and procedures </li></ul> <p>Institutional Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Embraces diversity and actively collaborates effectively with a variety of students, staff and the public from diverse cultural, social, economic and educational backgrounds </li><li>Participates in recruitment and retention of students at an individual and institutional level in promotion of student success </li><li>Embraces, understands and uses appropriate technology tools to accomplish job functions </li><li>Provides high quality, effective service to internal and external customers through continuous improvement and adoption of lean office practices </li></ul> <p>CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Your application will be scored based on the minimum qualifications, core competencies, and preferred qualifications. An individual with negative information on their background inquiry will not necessarily be denied employment. </li><li>Providing false information will result in rejection of an application, employment offer or dismissal </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan.
