Let's explore them together.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We have a great opportunity for a skilled Scientist to join our dynamic TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) group at our Sunnyvale or Milpitas, CA lab.</p> <p>The TEM Scientist will be responsible for:</p> <ul> <li>Partnering with team members to provide high quality analysis service to clients. </li><li>Operating TEM tools to obtain TEM/STEM images, SAED, EDS and EELS data from samples. </li><li>Developing TEM analysis protocols/techniques to meet clients' requests. </li><li>Creating summary reports to capture the project objectives, analysis data and interpretation of the results. </li></ul> <p>A typical day would involve-</p> <ul> <li>Operating the TEM tools (FEI or JEOL electron microscopes) and collecting TEM/STEM images based on customers' requests. </li><li>Performing elemental analysis such as EDS/EELS (collecting/process the data and creating the reports). </li><li>Engaging in discussions with customers to solve their questions and concerns. </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule: *5pm-2am, Tuesdays to Saturdays OR Sundays to Thursdays</p> <ul> <li>Shift differential will apply </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or related field. </li><li>Must have 3yrs+ hands-on experience in TEM analysis characterizing a variety of materials. </li><li>Excellent understanding of the operations and principles of TEM tools. </li><li>Expert background in electron microscopy, including TEM/STEM, SAED, 4D-STEM, EDS and EELS. </li><li>Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation). </li></ul> <p>What would set you apart:</p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with FEI and JEOL electron microscope tools. </li><li>Experience with semiconductor chip products and wafer samples is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Compensation is aligned with market standards for the region and tailored to individual qualifications and experience.</p> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours). </li><li>Ability to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead. </li><li>Ability to communicate clearly and understandably ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting. </li><li>Ability to handle small and fragile devices with tweezers and /or fingers. </li><li>Require close distance visual acuity with or without correction (Glasses, Contacts, etc.). </li><li>Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time. </li></ul> <p>The essential physical and mental requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
