<p>#LINKEDIN #ENGINEERING</p> <p>General Description:</p> <p>The Machinist will support with continuous improvements and expansion efforts by providing hands on technical support for projects, providing troubleshooting assistance concerning manufacturing issues, assisting in the implementation of solutions, and contributing to solution development through root cause analysis.</p> <p>Specific Responsibilities & Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Promotes a safe working environment and adheres to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, company safety rules, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP's), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) in line with the company's objectives and policies at all times. </li><li>Reviews samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output </li><li>Plans the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job </li><li>Takes measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping </li><li>Selects appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job </li><li>Determines and programs size of batches, speed of machine etc. </li><li>Monitors machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues </li><li>Checks output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects </li><li>Keeps records of approved and defective units or final products </li><li>Performs routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages </li><li>Independently identifies, researches, and develops solutions to machining related issues </li><li>Carries out experimentation (both independently and under the supervision of Research and Development Engineers), often on the production floor or in an R&D lab operating equipment </li><li>Assists in implementing solutions in the R&D lab and on the production floor </li><li>Works with a team of engineers, machinists, and production personnel to improve processes, tooling and fixturing </li><li>Provides technical and project assistance as needed to R&D personnel </li><li>Continually seeks to improve work processes and individual performance </li><li>Other duties may be assigned by Project R&D Manager. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to stand for long periods of time. </li><li>Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school education or equivalent. </li><li>Associate degree in mechanical, Machine Tool Technology, electrical, or engineering is required. </li><li>1- years' experience in machinist role; preferably in cosmetics process manufacturing or an FDA regulated industry. </li><li>Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.) </li><li>Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements </li><li>Advanced knowledge of the properties of metal and other material </li><li>Mechanical aptitude to understand the use of pumps and other equipment used in the filling of products. </li><li>Advanced knowledge of power and hand tools to perform job functions. </li><li>Strong English communications skills: speaking, reading, and writing. </li><li>Strong math and analytical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division </li><li>Intermediate PC Knowledge i.e. MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is preferred. </li><li>Able to work independently and as a team player </li><li>Good attendance record. </li><li>Self-Management: Display initiative, effort excellent organizational and planning skills, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner. </li><li>Teamwork: Build and sustain cooperative working relationships and has strong leadership skills and ability. </li><li>Achieving thoroughness and accuracy in completing multiple prioritized projects. </li><li>Problem Solving: Identify options for solving a problem and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses. </li><li>Good time-management skills </li><li>Flexibility to work long hours during peak season or special schedules as needed to satisfying job requirements. </li><li>Constantly work to improve processes. </li><li>Makes suggestions for improvements. </li><li>Communicates and collaborate with management. </li><li>Other duties may be assigned as required by R&D Project Manager. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Process manufacturing environment </li><li>Lab/Tool shed/office environment </li><li>Moderate to heavy traffic including forklifts </li><li>Noise level is moderate. </li><li>Lighting is low to moderate </li></ul>
