As part of Marker Collective and the Next15 Group, we combine entrepreneurial agility with global reach.</p> <p>We're looking for an Account Director to join our San Francisco team-a strategic operator and trusted advisor who can lead accounts with authority, inspire teams to do their best work, and deliver programs that move the needle.</p> <p>About You</p> <p>You are a confident communications leader who knows how to turn business priorities into sharp, compelling narratives. Senior clients rely on you for perspective, not just progress updates. You ask smart questions, challenge assumptions when needed, and bring solutions grounded in experience.</p> <p>You lead with clarity and accountability. You understand how to balance high-level strategy with flawless execution. You build strong internal teams, create structure where needed, and foster an environment where people can thrive and grow.</p> <p>You're energized by working with technology-driven companies and understand the pace, ambition, and complexity that define the sector.</p> <p>What You Do</p> <ul> <li>Lead strategy and day-to-day oversight across multiple client accounts, ensuring programs align with business goals </li><li>Serve as a senior advisor to executive stakeholders, delivering clear, proactive counsel </li><li>Architect integrated communications programs spanning media relations, executive visibility, thought leadership, and campaigns </li><li>Drive major announcements, funding news, product launches, and narrative evolutions with precision </li><li>Elevate storytelling by identifying timely opportunities tied to industry trends and cultural moments </li><li>Maintain and strengthen relationships with top-tier business, technology, and trade media </li><li>Oversee quality control across deliverables, ensuring work is strategic, polished, and on brief </li><li>Manage scopes of work, forecasting, staffing, and account profitability with discipline </li><li>Identify organic growth opportunities and play a meaningful role in new business development </li><li>Partner with cross-functional specialists to deliver integrated, insight-driven campaigns </li><li>Mentor and develop Account Supervisors, Senior Account Executives, and junior team members through direct feedback and coaching </li><li>Represent Outcast externally at client meetings, industry events, and key moments that elevate the agency's presence </li></ul> <p>Who You Are</p> <ul> <li>8-10+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or integrated marketing </li><li>3-5+ years of experience managing and developing high-performing teams </li><li>Prior agency experience strongly preferred </li><li>Prior knowledge of or work experience within the technology sector strongly preferred, as this is our primary client base </li><li>Proven success advising senior leaders and managing complex, multi-workstream programs </li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, resourcing, and client profitability </li><li>Exceptional writer and editor with experience shaping executive messaging and positioning </li><li>Strong media acumen with an understanding of today's evolving earned landscape </li><li>Confident communicator who can lead meetings, workshops, and strategic discussions </li><li>Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments with multiple stakeholders </li><li>Champion the use of AI tools and emerging tech to enhance writing, research, and content production efficiency </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field preferred </li></ul> <p>Why Outcast</p> <p>A Competitive Compensation Package, Including</p> <ul> <li>Annual salary range of $125,000-$165,000 DOE </li><li>401k with match </li><li>Generous employer contributions toward insurance premiums </li><li>Paid mental health benefits </li><li>Unlimited vacation </li><li>11 paid holidays plus a paid end-of-year office closure </li><li>Paid short-term disability and extensive parental leave benefits </li><li>Cell phone reimbursement </li></ul> <p>Who We Are</p> <p>Outcast is a strategic communications agency that helps startups and established brands shape the future through creative storytelling and data-driven strategies.
