<p>Description</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>Under the direction of the Senior Global Product Manager for Personal and Group Training, the Assistant Product Manager is someone who performs a variety of Product Development duties in accordance with company policies and procedures. Responsibilities include assisting product managers in developing new products by collaborating with design, manufacturing, engineering, and sales, as well as through market research and competitive benchmarking. This is a non-supervisory position.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Market Research:</p> <ul> <li>Develop a network of knowledgeable experts </li><li>Conduct or participate in meaningful customer focus groups as needed </li><li>Prepare and distribute detailed competitive reviews </li><li>Maintain current competitive analysis for assigned product categories </li></ul> <p>Innovation:</p> <ul> <li>Identify, manage, and implement feature or specification improvements to current products </li><li>Provide support for the development of the category product plan </li><li>Through collaboration with cross-functional teams, identify opportunities for improving business outcomes </li></ul> <p>Product Development Support:</p> <ul> <li>Develop comprehensive product briefs and new product proposals </li><li>Write and manage Owner's Manuals and Assembly Guides, carton artwork, and product graphics as required </li><li>Manage all proposed product improvements as needed </li><li>Manage personal & group training category projects as directed by the Senior Global Product Manager for Personal & Group </li></ul> <p>Training:</p> <ul> <li>Manage product specifications through the Product Database </li><li>Supporting VAVE initiatives to drive enhanced user experience and support corporate profit goals </li><li>Consistently seek field and key stakeholder feedback on product designs throughout the NPD process. </li></ul> <p>Marketing/Sales Support:</p> <ul> <li>Work with Senior PM to develop product story for marketing department and features/benefits </li><li>Work with Senior PM to train sales team and dealers on why Matrix products are the best in class </li><li>Function as part of the Matrix 'Total Solution' selling approach to develop solutions for customers </li><li>Review images, specifications, and marketing bullets for catalog and website communication </li><li>Assist in efforts in the showroom to prepare for customer presentations </li><li>Assist sales with customer visits by presenting the personal & group training product portfolio and how it aligns to our company vision when needed </li></ul> <p>Marginal Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Other projects as assigned </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>4-year degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Exercise Physiology, or Kinesiology undergrad preferred </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Education or experience with product, sales, or service in the fitness industry, or project management in another commercial industry is required </li><li>Experience with Commercial Fitness Facilities preferred </li><li>Training programs in product management preferred </li><li>Training programs in fitness, such as ACE certification preferred </li><li>International experience, particularly with Asian manufacturing, preferred </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required </li><li>Some travel required.
