<p>Job Description</p> <p>ECU Health</p> <p>About ECU Health</p> <p>ECU Health is a mission-driven, 1,708-bed academic health care system serving more than 1.4 million people in 29 eastern North Carolina counties. The not-for-profit system is comprised of 13,000 team members, nine hospitals and a physician group that encompasses over 1,100 academic and community providers practicing in over 180 primary and specialty clinics located in more than 130 locations.</p> <p>The flagship ECU Health Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center, and ECU Health Maynard Childrens Hospital serve as the primary teaching hospitals for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. ECU Health and the Brody School of Medicine share a combined academic mission to improve the health and well-being of eastern North Carolina through patient care, education and research.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Revenue Cycle Analyst is responsible for analyzing and optimizing revenue cycle processes. This includes analyzing revenue cycle data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing strategies to increase revenue and improve patient satisfaction.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Identify trends; provide documentation, data/reporting to Revenue Cycle Management and owning area key stakeholders, offer suggestions for process improvement, and develop countermeasures in conjunction with operational areas. </li><li>Regularly tracks and analyzes data to identify, recommend, and implement opportunities to secure revenue for the organization; Analyzes and reviews third-party payer medical claims and develops and executes strategies to decrease denials system-wide. </li><li>Identifies trends or patterns that impact payment optimization, and collaborates with departments to establish action plans, initiatives, and policies to reverse negative patterns. </li><li>Researches and analyzes applicable regulatory, coding, and billing rules and educates departments on system application regulations and process requirements. </li><li>Identifies revenue opportunities and provides appropriate investigation, follow-up, and resolution. </li><li>Analyzes trends and inefficiencies in charges and recommends suitable operational improvements in an effort to prevent incorrect payments and denials. </li><li>Complete monthly standard reports: Parse and share trends and data to operational areas for review on a monthly basis; attend needed follow-up calls for support in operational reviews amongst owning areas. </li><li>Develop and maintain Revenue Cycle department intranet site. </li><li>Serves as an active team member; participates in department and company-wide initiatives; contributes to the overall culture. </li><li>Maintains tracking documents and dashboards. </li><li>Conduct special projects as needed. </li><li>Perform other related duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>Required Education/Course(s)/Training:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or related field OR </li><li>Associate's degree with relevant work or internship experience OR </li><li>5+ years of related work experience in a healthcare revenue cycle environment OR </li><li>Information Systems or Microsoft Office Specialist certification or other equivalent technology credential in lieu of a degree </li></ul> <p>Required Certification/Registration:</p> <ul> <li>EPIC Resolute certification (must obtain within 6 - 8 months from date of hire) </li></ul> <p>Preferred Education:</p> <ul> <li>EPIC PB/HB Resolute, Cadence and Prelude certification </li></ul> <p>Performance Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Successful achievement of the following - </li><li>Strong analytical skills </li><li>Must be able to work independently and efficiently with little supervision </li><li>Strong customer service and human relations abilities </li><li>Ability to manipulate large sets of data in multiple databases is required </li><li>Ability to use various computer applications is preferred, including EPIC </li><li>Ability to react to frequent changes in duties and volume of work </li><li>Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems, and correct errors </li></ul> <p>Other Information</p> <ul> <li>Hybrid role in Greenville, NC </li><li>Monday - Friday day shift </li><li>Great Benefits </li></ul> <p>#LI-HYBRID</p> <p>#LI-AH2</p> <p>General Statement</p> <p>It is the goal of ECU Health and its entities to employ the most qualified individual who best matches the requirements for the vacant position.</p> <p>Offers of employment are subject to successful completion of all pre-employment screenings, which may include an occupational health screening, criminal record check, education, reference, and licensure verification.</p> <p>We value diversity and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
