It includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 249-bed community hospital, Rockville General, a campus of Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 102-bed facility, a large multispecialty provider group and visiting nurse services. The Greater Manchester Region serves a region of 300,000 people in 19 towns.</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Patient Financial Advocate serves to help all patients-especially those who are uninsured, underinsured, and have low incomes-assess and ultimately resolve their financial situations. Responsible for determining potential sources of funding, this includes establishing payment plans and other financial arrangements, determining patients' eligibility for hospital-sponsored charity care and external financial assistance, and collecting patients' remaining balances. All communications are conducted in a manner that will result in positive patient relations and prompt reimbursement for the hospital's services.</p> <p>EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or equivalent required.</p> </li><li> <p>Associate or Bachelor's degree from accredited institution preferred.</p> </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li> <p>2 to 3 years of related work experience required, preferably in healthcare or customer service environment utilizing the following skills:</p> </li><li> <p>Experience discussing and resolving financial situations with patients.</p> </li><li> <p>Computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel.</p> </li></ul> <p>We take great care of careers.</p> <p>With locations around the state, Hartford HealthCare offers exciting opportunities for career development and growth.
