<p>Required Qualifications:</p> <p>PhD (or foreign equivalent) in Biotechnology or a closely related field. Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate research workflow and work on data generated in studies. Previous experience in coordinating human research studies and expertise in managing data generated.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Prior experience in deciphering complex trait genetics and other omics is highly desirable.</p> <p>Brief Description:</p> <p>The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator Dr. Joe Verghese in the department of Neurology. The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.</p> <p>The position primarily entails proficiency in conducting biomarker discovery research and executing biological aims of the project. The individual should be responsible for the correct advance of the studies aimed to delineate the main research goal for the projects. This includes:</p> <p>Duties:</p> <p>? Coordinating sample collection, overseeing experimental workflows, and ensuring quality control during data generation, managing and analyzing genomic, epigenetic, and proteomic datasets, including integration across multiple cohorts, devising workflows and strategies to plan genetic association studies.</p> <p>? Conducting bioinformatics and statistical analyses of high-throughput omics data generated in house in our projects.</p> <p>? Overseeing research studies and assessments, conduct quality checks, collect data, maintain databases, perform statistical and bioinformatics analyses, deliver scientific presentations, and publish manuscripts.</p> <p>? Other duties as assigned which may include attending Scientific Conferences and Meetings.</p> <p>Special Notes:</p> <p>The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation.
