<p>The Role</p> <p>We are looking for an experienced Accounting and Payroll Manager who can own our internal accounting functions and roll up their sleeves to support our payroll operations team. This is not a corporate bureaucracy job. You will have real responsibility from day one and work directly with company leadership.</p> <p>What You Will Own on the Accounting Side</p> <ul> <li>Day to day bookkeeping and general ledger management in QuickBooks Online </li><li>Monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet review </li><li>Accounts payable and accounts receivable management </li><li>Monthly financial statements including P&L and balance sheet </li><li>Commission reporting and payment processing </li><li>Sales tax filing and payment </li><li>Budget tracking and variance reporting </li><li>Annual 1099 processing and W-9 management </li><li>Coordination with external CPA and insurance agents </li><li>Banking functions including account reconciliation and treasury support </li><li>Third party bank certifications and year end financial reporting </li></ul> <p>What You Will Support on the Payroll Side</p> <ul> <li>Assist payroll processors with client research and troubleshooting </li><li>Support multi-state payroll tax administration using isolved </li><li>Assist with quarterly and year end payroll tax processes including 941s, 940s, W-2s, and state filings </li><li>Provide backup support for ACH processing and positive pay functions with dual controls </li><li>Support client billing coordination across isolved and QuickBooks </li></ul> <p>What We Are Looking For</p> <ul> <li>5 or more years of accounting experience, preferably in a service business or payroll company environment </li><li>Strong QuickBooks skills - you need to be comfortable owning the books, not just entering data </li><li>Payroll industry experience is a strong plus; isolved experience is a bonus but not required </li><li>Working knowledge of multi-state payroll tax is preferred </li><li>Someone who understands banking operations and is comfortable with treasury management functions </li><li>High attention to detail - you are handling client funds and financial reporting, accuracy is non-negotiable </li><li>Ability to work independently and manage your own workload without being micromanaged </li><li>Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred </li></ul>
