All this is possible only with the right team members in place, working together with partners and the community to provide all students the academic, social, and emotional supports needed to succeed in school and beyond.</p> <p>ROLE OVERVIEW</p> <p>The Senior Director, Grants will play a key role in ensuring that all grant-related logistics and financial activities for multiple departments are handled smoothly, efficiently, and responsively. The Senior Director will lead cross-functional work streams to implement Federal Programs and will oversee the planning, implementation, compliance, evaluation, and reporting for multiple funding sources. The Senior Director also provides oversight, designs, organizes, and manages all financial data, analysis, fiscal reporting and accounting processes for the district.</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; preferably Master's degree or CPA certification </li><li>At least three years progressive business experience including grant writing, grants management, editing, and budgeting </li><li>Strong grant writing experience required, federal grant and proposal preparation experience preferred </li><li>At least three years of experience with state and federal regulations pertaining to grants management </li><li>At least three years of audit experience required </li><li>Strong Fund accounting experience in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles </li><li>Managerial experience in accounting and state and federal reporting </li><li>Strong quantitative analytical skills, including significant experience and familiarity with compiling and analyzing data to drive decision-making </li><li>Experience conducting qualitative, and quantitative analysis, and utilizing results to develop regulations and guidelines </li><li>Experience working in a fast-paced environment required </li><li>A valid driver's license with current insurance and valid vehicle registration </li><li>Required criminal history background check, physical and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status </li></ul> <p>ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Major responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee all grants district wide- includes support other teams in managing grants like SBYS, ECE, Perkins, and new grant opportunities </li><li>Ensure grant compliance, reporting and application deadlines are met </li><li>Prepare for state and local audits </li><li>Supports in preparing and gathering documentation for QSAC reporting </li><li>Oversee the reconciliation of all cash and account balances for grants </li><li>Draft standard operating procedures for grants accounting and train staff </li><li>Ensure all grants revenues are accounted for, allocated appropriated, reconciled and reported on a monthly basis </li><li>Remains current on laws, regulations, guidance and requirements for all funding sources </li><li>Oversees grant implementation and coordinates compliance activities </li><li>Attends all federal and state program training institutes as needed or recommended </li><li>Interface with funders on aspects of grant compliance, funder meetings, and other regular communication </li><li>Develops and monitors federal grant budgets and state budgets and files reports with state and federal agencies on a timely basis </li><li>Manages and maintains accounting records of the district's grant programs </li><li>Prepares all financial reporting and analysis </li><li>Provides oversight for all audits and reviews for journal entries </li><li>Provides support for annual audit process </li><li>Provides high level analysis of District's budget and financial transactions and recommends both innovation and corrective action as appropriate </li><li>Maintains confidentiality of records and information, and uses discretion when sharing any such information within legal confines </li><li>Adheres to federal statutes and regulations, New Jersey statutes and Administrative Code Board of Education policies and procedures, and contractual obligations </li><li>Ensures federal and state compliance, participates in state agency monitoring visits, and oversees reporting requirements </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Supervisor's designee </li></ul> <p>CORE COMPETENCIES</p> <p>An ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate the following and/or have experiences with:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated record of accomplishment in leading significant cross-functional initiatives in diverse organizational settings </li><li>Strong analytical skills, including comfort level using Microsoft Excel and other online reporting tools to compile data, trends and reports </li><li>Familiarity with the Chart of Accounts and fiscal accountability regulations </li><li>Project and process management experience </li><li>Integrity and clarity in all communications and interactions </li><li>A willingness to go above and beyond to do whatever it takes to achieve strong results </li><li>Extraordinary attention to detail </li><li>Ability to generate work with speed and accuracy, meeting timelines with minimal supervision </li><li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously </li><li>Possesses strong interpersonal and team building skills </li><li>Adept at high-level problem-solving and decision-making skills </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace and budget management programs </li><li>Ability and desire to build and cultivate relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders </li><li>Flexible, optimistic approach;
