<p>Job Title Nursing - Tenure Track Faculty Location Main Campus - Dayton, OH Job Number 05285 Department Nursing Job Category Faculty Job Type Full-time Tenure Track Status Regular Job Open Date 08/04/2025 Resume Review Date Ongoing Closing Date 08/18/2025 Open Until Filled Yes Position Summary</p> <p>The Division of Health Sciences at Sinclair is currently inviting highly qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in the Nursing Department, beginning August 18, 2025. The position typically requires at least a 40-hour work week which includes a course load of 15 credit hours per semester, and a minimum of five office hours per week. In addition to these responsibilities, the faculty member will be expected to perform related duties such as serving on department and college committees, supervising student clinical rotations, serving as an ambassador for the nursing program and mentoring and coaching students. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend assignments. The position reports to the Chair/Program Administrator.</p> <p>This 9-month faculty position that requires an innovative educator who is committed to student success as measured through student engagement and completion. This position description does not represent in any way a contract of employment. </li></ul> <p>Principal Accountabilities</p> <p>The following are six critical performance areas that define a tenure-track faculty position:</p> <ul> <li>Scholarship and Professional Growth: Maintain and seek to improve currency and competence in the discipline and as a teacher. </li><li>Teaching and Learning Facilitation: Participate in the continuing development and implementation of the department's curriculum through teaching that reflects a strong commitment to fostering student success. </li><li>Assessment and Evaluation: Implement evaluations according to established standards and use assessment data to continuously improve teaching and learning. </li><li>Student Development: Through in-class and out-of-class initiatives, actively seek to advance the development of individual students and their capacity to meet their educational goals. </li><li>Curriculum Design: In collaboration with colleagues, actively contribute to the continuous review </li><li>Workplace and Community Service: Contribute to the operation and advancement of the college through committee service and other activities. Extend professional expertise to the community served by the college. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a master's degree in nursing required </li><li>Must possess and maintain Ohio Registered Nurse Licensure required </li><li>Must have 2 years of nursing practice experience required </li><li>Evidence of successful prior teaching experience; must have 2 years of teaching experience preferred </li><li>Must have current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification by date of hire required </li><li>Immunization Requirements upon hire required </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to teach a concept-based curriculum with application across the life span with different patient populations in Didactic, Laboratory and Clinical settings required </li><li>Ability to work in groups required </li><li>Ability to use technology in a variety of modalities such as instructional support, research, and communication required </li><li>Ability to utilize Human Patient Simulators or similar high technology simulation for use in classroom and laboratory settings preferred </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level </li><li>Effective communication skills required </li></ul> <p>Official transcripts for all post-secondary degrees (if applicable) and successful completion of a background check will be required prior to date of hire.</p>
