<p>Candidates must be available to work 11 am - 7 pm shift, as well as on call, after hours, and during weather events, and any overtime when needed.</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY: </p> <p>Work may be performed under direct supervision of a higher-level Wastewater Collection Technician. This is an entry-level classification in which incumbents learn the skills required to perform semi-skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater collection systems. Performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater collection systems. </p> <p>Level I Technicians are required to complete additional training classes within a 24-month time period. </p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>Assists with the construction, repair, inspection, and maintenance of manholes.</p> <p>Digs ditches and unloads pipe.</p> <p>Assists with the elimination of sewer blockages.</p> <p>Obtains proper tools, equipment, supplies, and materials for high level technicians.</p> <p>Locates sewer mains, manholes, and laterals.</p> <p>Assists with operation of combo vac/jet truck to clean sewer mains and remove blockages.</p> <p>Assists with operation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) inspection in accordance with NASCO standards.</p> <p>Cleans sewer spills and applies proper biocides as needed.</p> <p>Performs basic manhole inspections.</p> <p>Responds to emergency calls related to any Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO), back-up and manhole issue.</p> <p>Assists with operation of a variety of complex trucks and equipment to properly maintain the collection system in order to comply with Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) mandates and ECUA Standard Operating Procedures/Guidelines for Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) reporting.</p> <p>Uses computer for work orders, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) mapping, and to look up customer information. </p> <p>Assist with operation of manhole rehabilitation truck, by-pass systems, back-hoe, front-end loader and related maintenance equipment.</p> <p>Assist with daily inspections of the sewer collection system using CCTV camera equipment and visually inspecting manholes.</p> <p>Assists with evaluation of pipes, manholes, and laterals.</p> <p>Uses techniques and equipment to evaluate the collection system for sources of Infiltration and Inflow (I & I), such as smoke and dye testing. </p> <p>Sets up and operates temporary by-passes of gravity sewer system.</p> <p>Assist with daily grease, sand, roots and debris removal from the collection system.</p> <p>Uses knowledge of system to clear blockages though out the collection system.</p> <p>Assist contractors and other divisions as needed with Vac-trucks and CCTV camera trucks.</p> <p>Required to work different shifts as needed in all kinds of weather events.</p> <p>All other duties as assigned.</p> <p>High school diploma or equivalent. (Educational documentation will be required upon offer of employment.)</p> <p>Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.</p> <p>Must respond to all emergency work callouts beyond his/her assigned shift.</p> <p>Basic level of computer knowledge and skills is required.</p> <p>Licenses and Certifications:</p> <p>Possession of a valid driver's license.</p> <p>Within 24 months of employment, promotion, or transfer:</p> <p>Possession of or ability to obtain a "Class A" CDL driver's license.  CDL permit must be obtained within 60 days after completion of 12-month probationary period.</p> <p>Within six (6) months of hire</p> <p>Attain Confined Space Entry Certification</p> <p>Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Certification</p> <p>OSHA-10</p> <p>Within 24 months of employment,
