The university serves a large and growing population of remote</p> <p>learnings in Master's and doctoral degrees The university's progressive approach to higher</p> <p>education prepares students to meet real-world industry demands.</p> <p>Lab (CAILIE) Overview:</p> <p>Capitol Tech University has invested over $1.3M in GPU infrastructure, including (24) Nvidia</p> <p>H200 GPUs, 400Gbps RoCE networking, and 200TB of NVMe storage. The lab infrastructure</p> <p>will be based on open-source technologies including Linux and Kubernetes. We are looking for</p> <p>passionate infrastructure and AI engineers to help build-out our lab with new capabilities that</p> <p>allow our researchers and students to train, evaluate, and integrate complex workflow agents into</p> <p>different projects across the university.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Linux Cloud Engineer is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and daily</p> <p>operations of the CAILIE's technical infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring that all AI</p> <p>systems and services are functioning optimally and securely, supporting both research and</p> <p>educational activities within the lab.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Implement and manage CAILIE systems, including hardware setup, software installation, </li></ul> <p>and network configuration.</p> <ul> <li>Provide technical support to faculty, students, and staff, troubleshooting issues and </li></ul> <p>ensuring smooth operation of the lab's resources.</p> <ul> <li>Maintain and monitor the lab's infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, and </li></ul> <p>networking equipment, to ensure high availability and performance.</p> <ul> <li>Assist in managing remote access for students and faculty, ensuring secure and efficient </li></ul> <p>use of CAILIE resources.</p> <ul> <li>Automate routine tasks and processes within the lab to enhance efficiency and reduce </li></ul> <p>manual workload.</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with the Artificial Intelligence Engineer to plan and execute upgrades, </li></ul> <p>expansions, and other infrastructure projects.</p> <ul> <li>Document all technical procedures, configurations, and system changes for future </li></ul> <p>reference and compliance.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. </li><li>5+ years of experience in IT administration, with a focus on managing advanced </li></ul> <p>computing environments.</p> <ul> <li>Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix systems, networking, and containerized environments </li></ul> <p>(docker/podman and Kubernetes).</p> <ul> <li>Experience with enterprise networking switches (Mellanox/Nvidia or Cisco preferred) </li><li>Experience with AI/ML frameworks and GPU-based computing is highly desirable. </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and </li></ul> <p>organizational skills.</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to </li></ul> <p>non-technical users.</p> <p>Salary Range:</p> <p>The salary for this position typically ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on</p> <p>experience and qualifications.</p>
