<p>A new vacancy now exists in the Public Records Division.</p> <ul> <li>Must be a current BSO employee who has successfully completed their probationary period by the listed closing date. </li><li>Two (2) years' experience working with computer programs to include Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Office. </li><li>One (1) year public records processing preferably in a public sector governmental agency or similar law enforcement environment. </li><li>Experience in video redaction and editing preferred. </li><li>Communications dispatch experience is preferred. </li><li>An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Such experience must be clearly documented in the application for consideration. </li></ul> <p>SPECIAL REQUIREMENT</p> <p>FEMA Emergency Management Training - ICAS 100, 200, 700, 800 within six (6) months of hire.</p> <p>FCIC Limited Access Certification or eligibility for certification.</p> <p>Possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license throughout employment without any restrictions that affect job performance.</p> <p>Under administrative direction, the purpose of this position is to provide technical support for various digital records technologies within the Digital Records Unit of the Broward County Sheriff's Office. Employees in this classification process public records requests related to the review and redaction of body worn camera footage and other digital evidence, conducts case filing research, and problem troubleshooting. Performs related work as directed.</p> <p>The list of essential functions is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions area logical assignment to the position.</p> <p>Reviews digital records and related documents for redaction and dissemination in compliance with agency policy and public records laws. </p> <p>Research and reviews digital records classifications to ensure compliance with prescribed procedures and guidelines. </p> <p>Liaison with unit representatives on quality control, workflow operations, and customizations / modifications changes to digital records systems. </p> <p>Generates system records and reviews law enforcement reports to ensure digital records are appropriately flagged and categorized. </p> <p>Works with the State Attorney's Office (SAO) and other departments regarding the viewing, reproduction, redaction, release, and final disposition of digital records. </p> <p>Performs tasks and other technical functions at the direction of immediate supervisor or designee. </p> <p>Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Work is performed in usual office conditions with rare exposure to disagreeable environmental factors.
