Perform accurate assessments and application of casts, splints, and other orthopedic devices, ensuring proper alignment and fit to support patient recovery and rehabilitation</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>The Orthopedic Technician's tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:</p> <ul> <li>Welcome and escort patients to examination rooms, ensuring their comfort and readiness for the physician. </li><li>Conduct interviews with patients to gather their medical history, measure vital signs, height, and weight. </li><li>Collect and organize relevant reports and radiological results to prepare accurate patient charts. </li><li>Provide assistance during treatments, including the removal of sutures and staples, preparation of injections, instruments, and materials. </li><li>Administer medications as directed by the physician and offer clear explanations of treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physicians' instructions to patients. </li><li>Facilitate medication refills through e-prescription systems and communicate prescription details to pharmacies under authorized directives. </li><li>Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and readiness. </li><li>Sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies to maintain hygienic standards. </li><li>Educate patients on the use of durable medical equipment (DME) as needed. </li><li>Perform various clerical duties, including scheduling appointments, participating in phone triage, faxing prior authorizations and referrals, and managing electronic health records (EHR) efficiently. </li></ul> <p>.What you will need:</p> <p>Education: High School diploma or equivalent.</p> <p>Experience: 1+ year(s) experience as an Orthopedic Technician or a comparable role is preferred.</p> <p>Certification: Certification as an Orthopedic Technologist (OTC) or completion of a recognized certification program is required. Must obtain OTC within 2 years of working.</p> <p>Pay Range: $21.20 - $30.44</p> <p>Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
