No</p> <p>County Albany</p> <p>Street Address 515 Broadway</p> <p>City Albany</p> <p>StateNY</p> <p>Zip Code12207</p> <p>Duties Description Primary Purpose</p> <p>The Investigative Auditor investigates allegations of criminal wrongdoing, fraud, abuse, conflicts of interest, corruption, and misconduct within DASNY and its programs and in relation to DASNY and its programs.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Assist in confidential internal investigations into allegations involving misconduct in relation to DASNY, including but not limited to staff, members, contractors, and vendors, and recommend corrective measures. </li><li>Assist in confidential internal investigations into allegations involving workplace or domestic violence issues, in relation to DASNY staff and recommend corrective measures. </li><li>Conduct interviews and interrogations; interview witnesses, complainants and subjects of investigations. </li><li>Prepare detailed reports of investigative findings and recommendations in relation to assigned cases. </li><li>Serve as liaison with various law enforcement agencies; interact and cooperate with law enforcement, investigative, and prosecutorial agencies as required. </li><li>Receive complaints; investigate and ensure proper disposition. </li><li>Conduct background checks and perform database searches, as required. </li><li>Conduct site visits, attend project kick-off meetings, and conduct trainings, generally in assigned geographical area, as part of proactive measures to prevent corruption. </li><li>Use computer database to document and track information. </li></ul> <p>Other Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist in training and other proactive activities to promote ethics and fraud awareness and prevention among DASNY staff, members, contractors, and vendors. </li><li>May assist in vulnerability assessments or integrity tests of policies, programs, and projects to identify susceptibility to mismanagement, fraud, and waste and recommend corrective strategies. </li><li>May train and evaluate employees. </li><li>Assist with the development, documentation, and implementation of procedures. </li><li>Assist with the assessment/development and implementation of internal controls, and participate in the review and testing of same. </li><li>Undertake special assignments as directed. </li><li>Must maintain regular attendance in accordance with DASNY attendance and leave policies. </li><li>Must adhere to the NYS Information Security Policy Standards established and issued by the Office of Information Technology Services. (Standards can be found on the Intranet). </li></ul> <p>Supervision</p> <p>May supervise one or more employees.</p> <p>Physical/Mental/Visual Demands</p> <p>Must be available for on-call duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to meet whatever needs may arise in the event of a riot, civil disorder, natural disaster or crimes against persons or property. Frequent travel is required to various project sites using public transportation, DASNY vehicle, rental vehicle or personal vehicle. This travel may, upon occasion include overnight stays at public accommodations and related establishments. Requires physical mobility (movement from place to place). Requires concentration (prolonged mental effort). May require complex and time-pressured decision-making.</p> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Standard office environment, including the use of one or more of the following: PC, telephone, fax machine, printer, copier, scanner, electronic stapler, three-hole punch, date stamp, shredder.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree plus eight years relevant law enforcement experience as a police officer with demonstrated investigative experience. Must possess a valid driver's license.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Criminal Justice, Finance, Political Science, Business Administration or Public Administration plus eight years relevant law enforcement experience as a police officer within a major metropolitan area, experience in the area of fraud and white collar crime and at least three years of demonstrated internal investigative experience and/or experience with investigations dealing with the New York State construction industry, preferably in NYC metropolitan area or in the NYS capital district.. Must possess a valid driver's license. Current Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Fraud Specialist, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, or Certified Inspector General Investigator designation. Eligibility applies after 3 months of employment. </li><li>Limited Work From Home (LWFH) - additional telecommute days according to DASNY's Telecommuting Program Guidelines. Eligibility applies after 6 months of employment. </li><li>DASNY is a government employer for purposes of the Public Services Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF Program). The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance of certain student loans after making 120 qualifying monthly payments.
