<p>Description</p> <p>Market Investigator</p> <p>The Asset Protection Market Investigator is responsible for managing and coordinating shoplifting and external theft investigations, involving shoplifters, habitual offenders, and organized retail criminals, within an assigned market to achieve maximum shrink prevention and protection of company assets.</p> <p>This position reports to the Asset Protection (AP) Senior Manager, and generally has no direct reports. The Investigator is required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with company values, policies, local, state and federal laws. ideal candidate should reside in New York or New Jersey. Here, you'll be empowered to perform, grow, and engage through unmatched opportunities to develop your skills, gain real-world experience, and learn from the best in the business.</p> <p>Major responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Investigate and resolve cases related to external theft and other theft activity </li><li>Develop strategies and tactical plans to resolve theft and fraud </li><li>Organize, plan, and facilitate external theft operations, as needed </li><li>Conduct non-mobile surveillance of individuals suspected of external theft and/or fraud </li><li>Identify and apprehend individuals involved in shoplifting and Organized Retail Crime (ORC) </li><li>Build and maintain effective relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement partners, internal Asset Protection partners, Asset Protection partners from other retailers & Mall Security departments </li><li>Ensure proper preparation, maintenance and retention of all reports, evidence, files and records in accordance with company guidelines and local jurisdiction requirements </li><li>Partner with Law Enforcement to present case work, facilitate the apprehension, arrest and prosecution of individuals involved in external theft </li><li>Testify in criminal proceedings when required; work closely within local jurisdiction to ensure prosecution </li><li>Participate with law enforcement networking meetings, including attendance at Organized Retail Crime Association (ORCA) meetings within the assigned area(s) </li><li>Supporting cases with logistics focus including investigations of drivers and process of moving product within our stores network </li><li>Effectively utilize all investigative tools (i.e. - RFID, external theft probability models, cameras, etc.) to identify & investigate theft trends </li><li>Partner with and educate store leadership teams and sales associates on external theft awareness and prevention </li><li>Effectively identify, analyze, develop strategy and communicate action plans to mitigate external theft trends with broader AP team </li></ul> <p>Click here for benefit details related to this position.</p> <p>Minimum Salary: $85,700.00</p> <p>Maximum Salary: $114,660.00</p> <p>VS&Co provides a range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual salary will be determined by a number of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic region, or other relevant factors.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required skills and experience</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree, a plus. </li><li>Minimum of two to three years of asset protection investigative experience, preferred. </li><li>Must uphold our values, code of conduct and policies at all times and lead by example. </li><li>Must possess good communications skills, both written and verbal. </li><li>Must be self-motivated and manage time effectively. </li><li>Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office. </li><li>Highly proficient in the use of closed-circuit television (CCTV) and reporting systems that support investigations. </li><li>Experience with Radio-frequency identification (RFID), a plus. </li><li>Overnight travel required - 50% of time </li></ul> <p>The possession of, and ability to maintain, a valid U.S. Driver's License due to the travel requirements of the position.</p> <p>#LI-WM1</p> <p>We will consider for employment all qualified applicants, including those with arrest records, conviction records, or other criminal histories, in a manner consistent with the requirements of any applicable state and local laws.
