We worship together, serve one another, and grow in faith as we learn in the classroom, on the field, at chapel, and in all the places where we're doing Life Together.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under the leadership of the Executive Director of Spiritual Life and Intercultural Leadership, the International Student Services Coordinator will provide quality advising to F-1 visa students, provide support for intercultural, international, and global students, and manage the administrative functions of the office. This part-time position is 15-20 hours per week.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) for Taylor University:</p> </li><li> <p>Supports Executive Director of Spiritual Life and Intercultural Leadership in ensuring compliance with F-1 visa government regulations by maintaining accurate student records in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and pursuing knowledge of best practices in the field of International Student and Scholar Services.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides quality advising with the Executive Director of Spiritual Life and Intercultural Leadership to F-1 visa students regarding visa-specific requirements, benefits, and applications (e.g., OPT, CPT, RCL, etc.).</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains correspondence with prospective, admitted, and current international (F-1 visa / MK /TCK) students on behalf of the ISP.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide support for Intercultural, International, and Global Students:</p> </li><li> <p>Supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of undergraduate International Orientation and Student Leader Training week, including early arrival housing, meals, and other logistics.</p> </li><li> <p>Connects intercultural, international, and global students with departments, resources, and community members in response to student needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Leads the logistics related to the international flag display in Boren Campus Center and at commencement.</p> </li><li> <p>Along with the Graduate Assistant:</p> </li><li> <p>Provide transportation (Vaccination trips, SSN trips, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Logistics of on-campus housing during breaks</p> </li><li> <p>Summer storage solution</p> </li><li> <p>Manages office administrative tasks:</p> </li><li> <p>Creates an inviting and professional atmosphere in the Office of Intercultural Programs</p> </li><li> <p>Assumes responsibility for office supplies, petty cash, work orders, check requests, credit card reconciliation, room reservations, budget tracking, and accounting tasks, and the creation of printed office materials.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>U.S. citizen or permanent resident status is required in order to serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1 visa purposes - past experience as DSO preferred </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, families, and community members from global backgrounds </li><li>Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities at a time </li><li>U.S. driver's license for 2+ years, preferred </li></ul> <p>About the Department</p> <p>With students from 40 countries worldwide and almost every state, Spiritual Life and Intercultural Leadership at Taylor University seeks to provide a home for our intercultural community.
