<p>Job description</p> <p>Mission City Community Network(MCCN), a Not-for-profit organization with several clinics, operating as a Federally Qualified Health Center dedicated to serving low income families in the San Fernando Valley, San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles and San Bernardino areas. Committed to providing high quality of care and numerous services including pediatrics, family medicine, ob/gyn, dentistry, health education, and mental health.</p> <p>Position: Medical Assistant</p> <p>Location: San Fernando Valley</p> <p>Status: Full-Time (40hrs/wk)</p> <p>Schedule: Monday - Friday 8a-5p, will be scheduled Saturday 7:30a-4p</p> <ul> <li>willing/able to assist in coverage at other clinic locations, as deemed necessary by immediate supervisor. </li></ul> <p>A qualified, experienced medical assistant is needed for a community health clinic located in the San Fernando Valley area. Mission City Community Network, Inc. (MCCN) is looking for a professional, outgoing, and friendly team member with ability to multi-task. Must be reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently. Must maintain or exceed competency levels as established by corporate standards for clinical practice. Must have basic computer skills with knowledge of medical terminology.</p> <p>Medical Assistant, will require:</p> <ul> <li>vitaling, venipuncture, injections, tray set-up, assisting providers as needed </li><li>translation of Spanish to English </li><li>front office appointment scheduling, verifying insurance/program eligibility and other duties deemed necessary </li><li>Able to function with minimal supervision, track Referrals, Abnormal Labs, ensure proper scheduling of patients office visits: annual h&p, vaccines, women's health, etc. </li><li>Ensure patient check in / out is flowing accordingly </li><li>Assist is retinal screening. </li><li>Telephone and in-person screening limited to intake and gathering of information and follow-up </li><li>Obtaining vital signs & recording patient history </li><li>Preparing and Maintaining examination and treatment areas (ex: sterilazation) </li><li>Preparing and Assisting with routine and specialty examinations, procedures and treatments </li><li>Maintaining and Administering vaccines </li><li>Assist and Administer Electorcardiography (EKG) </li><li>Ensuring proper collection of specimens: bloodwork, urinalysis, etc </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Skills</p> <ul> <li>Must have experience in drawing blood and administering vaccines </li><li>Bilingual (English/Spanish) , required. </li><li>High School Diploma/GED from a WASC accredited School. </li><li>Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited school, required </li><li>California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), preferred </li><li>Must maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) </li><li>Ability to pass Basic Clerical Skills Test and Medical Assistant Competency Test. </li><li>6 months Referrals experience preferred </li><li>Minimum 2 year experience front and back office medical clinic setting (*required) </li><li>2+ year as a Medical Assistant assisting, training, directing Medical Assistants, </li><li>Must have current driver license, insurance and own reliable transportation (*required) </li><li>Must have a valid established driver's license </li><li>Willing to assist in coverage at other SB/LA, SGV Clinics, as deemed necessary by organizational needs </li></ul> <p>MCCN Benefits include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>403B retirement plan </li><li>Accrual of Sick Time </li><li>Medical, Dental, Vision and Life coverage (Benefits take effect 1st of the month following the 60 day waiting period.) </li></ul> <p>After 90 days of employment</p> <ul> <li>Usage of Sick time accrual </li><li>Holiday pay </li><li>Bereavement pay (up to 3 days a year; blood family only) Jury Service pay (up to 5 days with proof of service) </li></ul> <p>After 6 months of employment</p> <ul> <li>Vacation time accrual (roll over) </li></ul> <p>To Apply:</p> <p>Please email your resume/CV HR Dept.</p> <p>MCCN is an Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Job Type: Full-time</p> <p>Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour</p> <p>Expected hours: 40 per week</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Dental insurance </li><li>Health insurance </li><li>Life insurance </li><li>Vision insurance </li></ul> <p>Medical Specialty:</p> <ul> <li>Internal Medicine </li><li>Ob/Gyn </li><li>Pediatrics </li><li>Podiatry </li><li>Primary Care </li><li>Psychiatry </li></ul> <p>Schedule:</p> <ul> <li>8 hour shift </li><li>Monday to Friday </li><li>Rotating weekends </li><li>Weekends as needed </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High school or equivalent (Required) </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Medical Assistant back office, lab, vaccines: 1 year (Required) </li></ul> <p>Language:</p> <ul> <li>Spanish (Required) </li></ul> <p>Willingness to travel:</p> <ul> <li>25% (Required) </li></ul> <p>Work Location: In person</p>
