Healey</p> <p>Specialist, Talent Acquisition</p> <p>Office of Human Resource Administration</p> <p>80 Lower College Road</p> <p>Kingston, RI 02881</p> <p>Contact Phone/Extension 401-874-5267 Contact Email karen_healey@uri.edu Physical Demands</p> <p>At the time of appointment must be physically qualified to perform assigned duties as evidenced by a physician's certificate.</p> <p>Campus Location Kingston Building(s) Grant Funded Extension Contingent on Funding Date Extension Contingency Notes Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: To perform various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance of machinery, buildings and equipment; to perform work of a skilled level in several trades; and related work as required.</p> <p>SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Receives general directions and instructions from a superior with wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment; work is reviewed on completion.</p> <p>SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervises helpers and others who are assigned to assist.</p> <p>ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:</p> <p>To perform complex duties related to the maintenance of: plumbing fixtures, steam lines, steam heating and cooking equipment.</p> <p>To repair hospital sterilizers.</p> <p>To cut, thread and install pipe for steam and water lines.</p> <p>To repair wall plugs and lighting equipment; to repair and recondition fans.</p> <p>To make repairs and adjustments to laundry washing, drying and pressing machinery; to supervise helpers in the oiling and greasing of this equipment.</p> <p>To operate lathes, millers, drills and other machine shop equipment.</p> <p>To paint buildings, walls or other surfaces.</p> <p>To perform masonry work in connection with buildings, foundations, walks and walls.</p> <p>To repair doors, door frames and furniture; to fabricate and install temporary partitions; to operate and maintain wood lathes, sanders, joiners, power saws, planes and related power and hand tools.</p> <p>To make repairs to roofs and install flashing and spouts.</p> <p>To make minor repairs on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.</p> <p>To weld and braze metals by use of arc and acetylene welders.</p> <p>To do related work as required.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT:</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CAPACITIES: A working knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools and processes involved in trades related to general building maintenance; a working knowledge of the operation of mechanical equipment; a working knowledge of the use of common tools and materials; the ability to make varied repairs without supervision; and ability to supervise a small group of helpers; the ability to work from pencil sketches and diagrams; and related capacities and abilities.</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>EDUCATION: Such as may have been gained through completion of ten school grades; and</p> <p>EXPERIENCE: Such as may have been gained through employment in building and plant maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical or mechanical trades.</p> <p>OR: any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications Environmental Conditions</p> <p>This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions</p> <p>Work Hours</p> <p>2:00 PM TO 10:30 PM - Monday through Friday</p> <p>Days Off: Saturday & Sunday</p> <p>Posting Date 05/06/2025 Closing Date 05/18/2025 Special Instructions to Applicants</p> <p>THIS IS A FULL TIME CALENDAR YEAR POSITION WHICH WILL INCLUDE A GENEROUS BENEFITS PACKAGE INCLUDING A TUITION WAIVER FOR CCRI, RIC, AND URI FOR THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE, SPOUSE, AND DEPENDENTS (IF APPLICABLE) BASED ON CURRENT EDUCATION.
