<p>An opportunity to Inspire, Challenge, and Empower!</p> <p>Posting Information: We are currently hiring an Equality Club Advisor for Cedar High School for the 25/26 school year. This is a temporary position that will last for the duration of the school year. This position will remain open until filled. For best consideration, applicants should apply by 12/8/2025 for best consideration.</p> <p>Schedule: Hours will vary; 25/26 school year.</p> <p>Salary: $1,087.50 - $1,305, depending on experience, stipend based on the Shelton Athletic/Activities Association Bargained Agreement.</p> <p>FLSA Status: Non-Exempt for classified employees and exempt for current, certificated employees.</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Equality Club is responsible for providing activity/club programs that instill cooperation, leadership, goals, and direction to all interested secondary school students. The advisor develops the annual club calendar, plans for the supervision of class/club activities and performs other duties directly related to this position.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develops a philosophy for student conduct while participating in class/club programs. </li><li>Responsible for maintaining a high interest, balanced club program to meet student needs throughout the year. </li><li>Establishes dates, times, and places of events for administration approval and placement on the school calendar. </li><li>Arranges necessary transportation and supervision for occasional off-campus events. </li><li>Offers leadership and direction to class/club officers and works with Associated Student Body (ASB) to coordinate class/club activities. </li><li>Coordinates all class/club fundraising events and maintains fundraising calendar. </li><li>Provides leadership and in-service for class/club officers regarding fundraising, banking, and club operating procedures. </li><li>Prepares and conducts school-site student/leadership programs. </li><li>Responsible for maintaining a working budget and directs class/club bookkeeping and banking procedures. </li><li>Monitors monthly class/club budget reports provided. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li><li>Supervises students to ensure a safe environment for all. </li><li>Develops and maintains positive relationships with students to help create a welcoming environment for all students. </li><li>Works collaboratively and professionally at all times. </li><li>Maintains a positive attitude. </li><li>Welcomes students with the intentions of helping them start this project in a positive and appropriate manner. </li><li>Actively support the District's Strategic Plan, building School Improvement Plan, and board policy and procedures including those around student behavior. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Previous experience in club/activity as participant and/or advisor preferred. </li><li>Ability to conduct ASB meetings and business during lunch and after school at Cedar. </li><li>Must be knowledgeable regarding LGBTQIA students and issues they face in schools. </li><li>Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. </li><li>Previous experience in student leadership, event planning, or educational settings is highly desirable. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and staff. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to foster a positive and inclusive school culture. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. </li><li>Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for events. </li><li>Knowledge of school policies and procedures related to student activities. </li><li>Passion for youth development and commitment to empowering students. </li></ul>
