<p>Position Summary</p> <p>At Albright College, student success begins with a strong sense of belonging. The Student and Campus Life Community Coordinator is a live-on, full-time professional staff member who plays a critical role in creating an inclusive, engaging, and welcoming campus environment both within the residence halls and through campus wide activities. Living in a college-provided apartment within the residence halls, the Coordinator builds deep, meaningful connections with students and helps foster a vibrant community that supports student retention and personal development.</p> <p>This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about student development, community-building, and helping students thrive both personally and academically in a small liberal arts college setting. The Coordinator is a visible, accessible presence on campus-especially in the residence halls-and works collaboratively to ensure every student feels at home at Albright.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Community Development & Student Retention</p> <ul> <li>Build strong, inclusive residential communities by living among students and serving as a trusted point of contact and support. </li><li>Proactively identify and support students who may be at risk of disengagement or departure. </li><li>Work closely with the Student Success Coach to identify concerns early, coordinate outreach, and implement interventions that promote student retention and persistence. </li><li>Develop and implement community-building initiatives that foster belonging and promote meaningful peer and faculty/staff connections. </li><li>Engage campus partners and the broader community to enhance the student experience and support student well-being. </li></ul> <p>Residential Life</p> <ul> <li>Supervise, train, and mentor a team of Resident Assistants (RAs), helping them support and engage their residential communities. </li><li>Serve in a professional on-call rotation to provide crisis response and support during emergencies. </li><li>Support key residential operations including move-in/move-out processes, room inspections, and facilities follow-up. </li><li>Uphold community standards and promote a living environment that is safe, respectful, and conducive to academic success. </li><li>Maintain a visible, approachable presence within the residence halls by living on campus in a college-provided apartment. </li></ul> <p>Student Engagement & Programming</p> <ul> <li>Plan and implement co-curricular events that promote student involvement, leadership, and community-particularly in evenings and on weekends. </li><li>Advise and support student clubs and organizations with budgeting, leadership development, and event planning. </li><li>Coordinate major student life events including Welcome Week, Homecoming, and multicultural or mission-based celebrations. </li><li>Promote campus events through effective communication strategies and social media outreach. </li></ul> <p>Administrative & Professional Development</p> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate records related to residence life, incident reporting, and student programming. </li><li>Attend departmental meetings, trainings, and campus-wide initiatives that support student development and retention. </li><li>Contribute to a collaborative and innovative Student and Campus Life team, and take on other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Demonstrated experience supporting students from a wide range of backgrounds. </li><li>Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed. </li><li>A sincere commitment to student-centered service and inclusive community-building. </li><li>Must live on campus in a college-provided apartment as a condition of employment. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>At least one year of professional relevant experience in residential life, student leadership, or peer mentorship. </li><li>Familiarity with event planning, student development theory, and residence hall operations. </li><li>Interest in working with special student populations (e.g., international students, commuters, first-generation students, etc.). </li></ul> <p>About Albright College</p> <p>Founded in 1856, Albright College is the oldest institution of higher learning in Berks County and one of the most economically and culturally diverse colleges in the country.
