<p>The Community Outreach Specialist plays a key role in strengthening Rising Ground's connection with the communities we serve. This position is responsible for supporting and executing outreach strategies that increase visibility, foster community partnerships, and ensure access to programs and services. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator, relationship-builder, and community advocate who is passionate about equity and social impact.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and manage the monthly outreach calendar, coordinating and attending community events, and supporting community engagement efforts that highlight Rising Ground's programs. </li><li>Build and maintain relationships with local community leaders, stakeholders, community-based organizations and local government officials. </li><li>Assist department Director with tracking community partnerships and completing periodic needs assessments for existing programs. </li><li>Support the creation of a community resource guide and internal program listings, while contributing to the development of outreach and branding materials that promote the organization's mission and services. </li><li>Solution-oriented, always seeking new ways to connect with communities, establish partnerships, and support Rising Ground's mission of empowerment and equity. </li><li>Utilize digital tools, social media, and branding materials to promote initiatives and expand outreach. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum: Associate's degree with at least three years of professional experience in community engagement, outreach, or related field. </li><li>Proven written, verbal, and visual communication skills with the ability to effectively engage a wide range of audiences. A strong communicator with excellent public speaking skills and the ability to confidently represent Rising Ground at events, meetings, and in the community. </li><li>Experience supporting or coordinating community events, listening sessions, and stakeholder engagement initiatives. Experienced in community engagement and organizing, with a deep understanding of how to build trust, mobilize resources, and foster meaningful connections across diverse populations. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for building relationships and collaborating across diverse communities and sectors. </li><li>Organized and proactive, thriving in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects with attention to detail and strategic focus. </li><li>Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Comfortable using technology and digital tools to support marketing and outreach efforts. </li><li>High level of professionalism, discretion, and cultural competence. </li><li>Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred. </li></ul> <p>Available to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.</p>
