<p>Work Status Details: Management | 80.00 Hours Every Two Weeks</p> <p>Exempt from Overtime: Exempt</p> <p>Shift Details: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evening or weekend call back</p> <p>Department: Security and Safety | Reports To: Director-Facilities Managment</p> <p>The mission of Faith Regional Health Services is to serve Christ by providing all people with exemplary medical services in an environment of love and care.</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Serve as staff specialist in security with responsibility for managing and monitoring of organization-wide security program designed to minimize risk of human injury and property damage. Monitors parking areas and pedestrian and vehicular traffic in accordance with department and hospital policies. Contributes to meeting the mission and goals of the organization and all other applicable regulatory and/or accrediting agencies. Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring Security and Transportation Department employees; appraising employee performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing department concerns and resolving problems; preparing annual capital and operating department budgets and managing purchasing and invoice coding. Conducts employee orientation and monthly rounding, trains staff on all aspects of Security and Transportation functions. Carries out managerial and leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Manages these activities with all departments to ensure safe and efficient operations facility wide. Writes, creates and updates Security and Transportation department policies and procedures not limited to OSHA and safety regulations. Manages compliance standards and maintains responsibility of the Security program for TJC and CMS compliance. Responsible for managing outside contractors for security and Transportation. Manages the Transportation department's day to day activities including fleet vehicle management.</p> <p>The listing of job duties contained in this job description is not all inclusive. Duties may be added or subtracted at any time due to the needs of the organization.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>Carries out the following duties and responsibilities of position without specific supervision.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, to include after-hours, weekends and overtime as necessary. Ability to be on work on time and to work scheduled hours. Ability to get along with others.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages the implementation, coordination, and effectiveness of security program to ensure a safe environment consistent with regulatory and hospital requirements and needs. Leads development of annual security goals and objectives and an annual review of the effectiveness of the security program. Develop and distribute reports on security issues as directed.</p> </li></ol> <ul> <li>Ensure and manage the development, updates, coordination and implementation of policies and procedures for security matters. </li><li>Develop a security surveillance schedule to ensure all buildings and grounds are surveyed on a regular basis consistent with hospital requirements and needs. Conduct and document surveys of facilities to identify existing or potential security hazards. Documents findings recommends corrective or preventative measures and notifies relevant leaders. </li><li>Patrols secured areas to ensure all doors are appropriately locked/unlocked. Reviews contracted security service logs to identify existing or potential security hazards. Recommends corrective or preventative measures and notifies relevant leaders. </li><li>Maintains adequate documentation of all performance improvement studies relative to security program. </li><li>Responds quickly, effectively, and appropriately to emergent situations involving security concerns including fire alarms. In such situations, assists departments with moving patients or controlling crowds and calls for outside assistance as needed. Assists departments as requested with potentially volatile situations such as EPCs, intoxicated patients, or family disputes. </li><li>Performs the duties of a Loss Prevention Specialist in investigation of occurrences such as lost or stolen property in order to aid employees and patients in recovering articles. Collaborates with Human Resources, Quality and Risk Management during internal investigations that require interviewing and/or physical evidence collection. </li><li>Escorts visitors, patients, and personnel to vehicles as requested. </li><li>Monitors and promotes compliance with hospital policies such as solicitation, smoking and visiting. </li><li>Manages oversight and operation of security camera/monitoring system to ensure that equipment is in working condition, coordinates maintenance and repairs with IS Department and outside vendors and evaluates need for system expansion to ensure continuous comprehensive security coverage. </li><li>Maintains, tests, and coordinates installation of security alarm devices (Panic alarms, door prop alarms, etc.) in security sensitive departments/locations. </li><li>Manages parking policies and oversee the parking lot security for FRHS facilities. </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Participates as a member of and prepares required security report for the FRHS Environment of Care Committee. Participates as a member of the Emergency Operations Planning Committee and Environment of Care Committee. </li></ol> <ul> <li>Ensures management and integration of the functional areas of regulatory and accreditation standards into the security program by serving in a consultative and coordinating role. Assists line and staff management to understand regulations and standards. </li><li>Manages activities with other departments to ensure safe, secure and efficient operations </li><li>Participates in the Facilities Management compliance team for TJC and CMS programs. This includes all of the Environment of Care compliance such as Safety, Security, Fire Safety, Utilities Management and Emergency operations. </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>Develops and manages educational programs regarding security for orientation and continuing education programs. Acts as adviser to FRHS staff regarding security program. Seeks out opportunities for staff involvement and innovation to promote employee creativity and to generate ideas to improve functions, devise solutions, and implement plans. </li></ol> <ul> <li>Achieves and maintains instructor certification and assists with instructing FRHS designated de-escalation training programs to FRHS staff and contracted security personnel. </li></ul> <ol start="5"> <li> <p>Complete of annual and probationary evaluations of all employees, recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures, and also provides for methods of recruitment and retention for departmental staff. Promotes professional and staff growth.</p> </li><li> <p>Serves as a liaison between organization and contract security services. Conducts off-shift and weekend inspections of security personnel concerning the performance of their duties and monitors compliance with security contract elements such as de-escalation training. Communicates to contracted security staff restricted access of individuals and potentially dangerous or problematic situations involving individuals or events.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists Facilities Management Director with operating and capital budgets for equipment and supplies for Security and Transportation departments. Makes operating adjustments in order to conform to approved budget as advised by Facilities Management Director.</p> </li><li> <p>Escorts individuals delivering nuclear medicine supplies to secured storage area as requested.</p> </li></ol> <ul> <li>Manage the day-to-day operations of the Transportation Department to include monthly rounding, assisting with employee work schedules and maintaining of hospital fleet vehicles. </li><li>Ensure and manage the development, updates, coordination and implementation of policies and procedures for the Transportation Department. </li></ul> <p>Hours will be dependent on patient census and workload. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, to include after-hours and weekends as necessary.</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Other information:</p> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <p>The requirements listed below must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.</p> <p>EDUCATION:</p> <p>Associate Degree required.</p> <p>EDUCATION FIELD OF STUDY:</p> <p>Security and Loss Prevention preferred.</p> <p>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:</p> <p>Current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification from the State of Nebraska required.</p> <p>Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within one full month from date of hire (Travelers-required upon hire) required.</p> <p>Non-Violent Crisis Intervention program obtained within six full months from date of hire (Travelers-required upon hire) required.</p> <p>Previous Experience Requirements:</p> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Previous management experience preferred.</p> <p>Previous healthcare experience preferred.</p> <p>Two years of previous experience in field/organization required.</p> <p>Skills/Knowledge Requirements:</p> <p>SKILLS:</p> <p>Language Skills - Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language required.</p> <p>Basic computer skills, able to operate word, excel and Microsoft Windows programs efficiently.
