<p>The Electrical Journeyman is responsible for installation, monitoring and repairing the electrical systems of the organization.</p> <p>Responsibilites</p> <ul> <li>Plan, layout, install, and repair wiring, conduit, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment </li><li>Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring </li><li>Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threader, rules, and conduit benders </li><li>Pull wiring through conduit, assisted by helper </li><li>Splice wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads with knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps </li><li>Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools </li><li>Install control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place with screws or bolts using hand or power tools </li><li>Connect power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads </li><li>Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope </li><li>Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement </li><li>Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems </li><li>Load, transport and unload material, tools, equipment, and supplies </li><li>Maintains tools and equipment </li><li>Wear personal protective equipment and uses safety equipment as required </li><li>Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules </li><li>Rate information using personal judgment or standards that can be measured or checked </li><li>Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities </li><li>Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a "safety-sensitive" position. </li><li>Other duties and special projects as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>Three years (3) combined training and experience in electrical work </li><li>Must be able to distinguish colors </li><li>Able to make and understand mathematical calculations </li><li>Journeyman license required which has met minimum requirements in the field (usually 8000 hours) and time in approved classroom setting (usually 700 hours) </li><li>Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture </li><li>Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s) </li><li>Greater than three years of experience </li><li>Proficiency in MS Office or Windows-based software </li><li>Experience working in chemical plant </li></ul>
