<p>Overview</p> <p>Gardner-Webb University is seeking an experienced and highly motivated technology leader to serve as the Assistant Associate Vice President for Technology Services. This key position supports the AVP/CIO in ensuring efficient daily operations, managing critical technology resources, and helping guide the strategic direction of the Technology Services department.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will be a collaborative problem-solver with strong organizational, financial, and communication skills-someone who thrives in a dynamic university environment and is committed to delivering outstanding services to students, faculty, and staff.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>The Assistant Associate Vice President for Technology Services will:</p> <p>Operational Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Support the AVP/CIO in the daily operational management of Technology Services. </li><li>Maintain smooth and reliable delivery of technology services across campus. </li><li>Refine and enhance departmental processes to improve efficiency and service quality. </li></ul> <p>Budget, Procurement, and Licensing Oversight</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate and manage departmental budgets and forecasting. </li><li>Oversee procurement of hardware, software, services, and technology solutions. </li><li>Manage licensing inventories, renewals, vendor agreements, and technology contracts. </li><li>Identify opportunities for cost optimization and improved purchasing value. </li></ul> <p>Strategic Planning & Execution</p> <ul> <li>Assist in developing and implementing strategic initiatives that enhance the university's technology environment. </li><li>Provide analysis, reports, and recommendations to support decision-making. </li><li>Collaborate on long-term planning, technology governance, and policy development. </li></ul> <p>Campus Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Work with academic and administrative leaders to understand needs and deliver technology-enabled business solutions. </li><li>Facilitate communication between Technology Services and university departments. </li><li>Recommend improvements to processes, systems, and infrastructure based on stakeholder needs. </li></ul> <p>Team Leadership & Supervision</p> <ul> <li>Supervise and mentor the Graduate Assistant, TechServices Helpdesk/Operations Coordinator, and student workers. </li><li>Ensure helpdesk and operations teams deliver high-quality support. </li><li>Foster a positive, customer-centered service culture. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. </li><li>Demonstrated experience in IT operations, project management, or technology leadership. </li><li>Strong budgeting, procurement, and vendor management skills. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in higher education IT environments. </li><li>Familiarity with enterprise licensing, contract management, and strategic planning. </li><li>Experience supervising student workers or support teams. </li></ul> <p>Competitive Benefits</p> <ul> <li> <p>Retirement matching</p> </li><li> <p>Tuition remission</p> </li><li> <p>Health insurance</p> </li><li> <p>Dental insurance</p> </li><li> <p>Vision insurance</p> </li><li> <p>Short term/long term disability</p> </li><li> <p>Life insurance</p> </li><li> <p>Paid time off</p> </li><li> <p>Paid sick leave</p> </li><li> <p>17 paid holidays</p> </li><li> <p>Wellness opportunities</p> </li><li> <p>On-campus health center</p> </li></ul> <p>Gardner-Webb University is a Christian university committed to helping individuals become more in faith, learning, and service.
