<p>Title: Assistant Nurse Manager</p> <p>Department: Internal Medicine</p> <p>Reports To: Nurse Manager</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>The Assistant Nurse Manager of Internal Medicine is responsible for the daily medical/clinical operation of the facility in collaboration with the Nurse Manager. The Internal Medicine department includes all locations where dedicated IM services are provided, including but not limited to: Columbus Avenue, Q House, West Haven, and Ansonia. The Assistant Nurse Manager will supervise and train the nursing (RN) and technician (MA, CNA) staff directly. In addition, he/she works closely with the Director of Nursing, and Medical Director to assure the medical and nursing components of the facility are appropriately coordinated and meet all regulatory and patient care standards.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for working in collaboration with the Nurse Manager of Internal Medicine in overseeing the management of the daily medical/clinical operation of the facility while demonstrating ethical and professional conduct. Oversee compliance of nursing components with regulatory standards (e.g. Joint Commission, HRSA, DPH). </li><li>Participates in regular data collection, reporting (e.g. mandated by funding sources, regulatory agencies), strategic planning (financial and programmatic), and development and implementation of productivity standards with the management team. </li><li>Participates in recruitment, retention and training of nursing and technician staff. </li><li>Responsible for working in collaboration with the Nurse Manager on the nursing schedule including permanent staffing and temporary/per diem staffing. </li><li>Works directly with Nursing Agencies and appreciates the management of overtime and temporary labor. </li><li>Appropriately document clinical and administrative work. Documents nursing incidents and medication errors. Ensure to use the utmost of care in protecting the confidentiality of client records in accordance with State and Federal laws. </li><li>Ensures compliance with all nursing and health care protocols. Presents changes, improvements or additions to protocols or nursing procedures to the team. </li><li>Will work in collaboration with the Nurse Manager and be responsible for ensuring RN coverage is always scheduled. </li><li>Will work collaboratively with the Nurse Manager and be responsible for all scheduling and call outs for the nursing staff. </li><li>In the event that RN coverage cannot be secured, the Assistant Nurse Manager will need to assume clinical duties for the session or day. </li><li>Performs all other duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education: RN with a BSN required.</p> <p>Experience: MSN with minimum of one (1) year administrative and supervisory experience or BSN with minimum of three (2) years administrative and supervisory experience, or RN with five (5) years nursing experience with three (2) years administrative and supervisory experience. Two (2) years' experience in Internal Medicine. Ambulatory experience preferred.</p> <p>CSHHC is an equal opportunity employer.
