The Food Service Coordinator at Norwich Free Academy (NFA) is responsible for the comprehensive oversight and administration of the Academy's food service program. This role ensures adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations while upholding the highest standards of nutrition, safety, and sanitation. The Coordinator manages daily operations, collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, and supports the Academy's mission by providing students with access to nutritious meals in a welcoming, efficient, and supportive environment.The Food Service Coordinator works closely with the Controller, Chief Financial Officer, Registrar, and Head of School. Please see full job description attached to this posting.</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee and coordinate the daily operation of the Academy's food service program </li><li>Promote student participation in the school meal programs through creative engagement. </li><li>Prepare monthly meal claims and all required reports for federal/state reimbursements </li><li>Ensure compliance with USDA National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and other federal/state regulations </li><li>Acts as Norwich Free Academy liaison with the CT State Department of Education Child Nutrition Unit and the Food Service Management Company (FSMC). </li><li>Prepare and complete all school food authority (SFA) requirements including program applications, verification, Healthy Food Certification, financial reports, on-site monitoring, and community eligibility as applicable. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in business administration, or a related field preferred </li><li>Demonstrated experience in food service strongly preferred. </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills. </li><li>Effective, active listening skills. </li><li>Ability to work in a team environment and deal effectively with people </li><li>Demonstrated ability to independently handle assignments. </li><li>Organizational and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Excellent public relations skill </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, internet-based systems, and cafeteria software (e.g., NutriKids, PowerSchool). </li></ul> <p>Application Procedures:</p> <p>Please submit a cover letter, resume, three letters of recommendation (within 1 years) and a complete set of transcripts.
