<p>Under general supervision, the Custodian performs a wide variety of cleaning, maintenance, and setup duties to ensure university buildings, classrooms, restrooms, offices, residence halls, and event spaces are clean, safe, sanitary, and well-maintained. Responsibilities include routine custodial work, special project cleaning, minor maintenance, and event support. This role ensures a safe and healthy environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.</p> <ul> <li>Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas. </li><li>Empty and sanitize trash and recycling bins. </li><li>Maintain and restock supplies in restrooms and other facilities. </li><li>Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces. </li><li>Respond to special cleaning requests and emergencies as needed. </li><li>Operate and maintain custodial equipment effectively and safely. </li><li>Report maintenance issues or hazards to the supervisor promptly. </li><li>Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment. </li><li>Assist with setup and take down for university events as required. </li><li>Collaborate with the custodial team to support overall operations and special projects. </li><li>Participate in ongoing training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred. </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. </li><li>Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions. </li><li>Physical ability to perform tasks that include lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. </li><li>Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed. </li></ul> <p>Starting Rate is $14.75</p>
