<p>SUBJECT:Early Childhood Education/Preschool Instructor Vocational Ed. Program Grades 9-12</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Building Principal</p> <p>ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE: Teaching and supervision of students in the preschool and Early Childhood Education Program. Instruction and planning to be in line with state frameworks, NYAEC program requirements, and department expectations.</p> <p>This is a posting for a high school teacher who teaches a curriculum of early childhood education to high school students. The licensed that is required is the high school (grades 9-14) license, not the Early Childhood grades PK-3 license.</p> <p>PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>1.The development and implementation of departmental curriculum objectives and competencies. 2.The planning, developing and integration of the department's curriculum where appropriate. 3.Maintaining the preschool program with the teaching staff according to standards, philosophy and environment as embraced by the Worcester Public Schools. 4.Planning with the staff of the ECE program for the implementation of changes in the curriculum and or new developments in the program. 5.Providing input in faculty/team performance evaluation of students at the end of each marking period for grading purposes. 6.Responsible for assuring equal educational opportunity to all individuals regardless of race, color, gender, age, marital status, religion, gender identity, national origin, sexual orientation, homelessness, or disability. 7.Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>1.Bachelor degree 2.Massachusetts teachers' licensure in Early Education and Care 9-14, Chapter 74. 3.SEI Endorsement 4.Three years minimum successful experience as an early childhood instructor with pre-school teaching and supervision. 5.Curriculum development experience and knowledge of integration of technical competencies with the curriculum frameworks. 6.Evidence of mastery of a wide variety of teacher competencies and the understanding of instructional techniques. 7.Evidence of educational leadership 8.Competent in computer applications</p> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>1.Advanced educational preparation. 2.Evidence of educational leadership. 3.Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs. 4.Ability to speak Spanish, Vietnamese, Albanian, Portuguese or an African language</p> <p>WORK YEAR: 185 days.</p> <p>SALARY: Salary scale shown is based on the candidate holding a Bachelor's Degree with the potential to increase dependent on the highest level of education.</p> <p>TO APPLY: Any person interested in this position should apply on-line at www.worcesterschools.org.
