We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic Shop Assistant to join our team and ensure the optimal performance of our fleet and equipment.</p> <p>Job Summary: The Mechanic Shop Assistant will assist mechanics and technicians in performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on construction equipment and vehicles. This role supports the efficient operation of the shop, ensuring tools, parts, and equipment are readily available and organized.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist mechanics in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, trucks, and tools. </li><li>Conduct basic tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks under supervision. </li><li>Clean and organize tools, parts, and shop areas to maintain a safe and efficient workspace. </li><li>Transport tools, parts, and equipment to job sites as needed. </li><li>Perform routine inspections and notify mechanics of potential issues with equipment. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory levels. </li><li>Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment. </li><li>Support the procurement of parts and supplies by coordinating with vendors. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the shop supervisor or lead mechanic. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in automotive or heavy equipment maintenance is a plus. </li><li>Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and tools. </li><li>Previous experience in a mechanic shop or similar environment is an advantage. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. </li><li>Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various conditions (e.g., outdoors, noisy environments). </li><li>Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. </li><li>Excellent organizational and time-management skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team. </li><li>Strong communication skills to effectively support mechanics and supervisors. </li><li>Proactive attitude and willingness to learn. </li></ul> <p>Ammons & Blackmon Construction, LLC. does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, pregnancy, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
