<p>Description</p> <p>Title: Graduate Research Assistant</p> <p>Position Number: 00GA11</p> <p>Hiring Unit: UHM, John A. Burns School of Medicine, Department of Native Hawaiian Health</p> <p>Location: Kaka'ako (Honolulu)</p> <p>Date Posted: August 14, 2025</p> <p>Closing Date: August 29, 2025 (11:59 pm HST)</p> <p>Salary:minimum $28,026 (Step 14); maximum $29, 148 (Step 15)</p> <p>Full-Time/Part-Time: Part-time (50% FTE)</p> <p>Temporary/Permanent: Temporary (NTE 12/19/2025)</p> <p>Funding: Federal</p> <p>Other Conditions:</p> <p>11-month type appointment, to begin approximately August 2025, renewal subject to funding availability, performance, and need.</p> <p>Duties: Will assist medical education core of the Department of Native Hawaiian Health at the John A. Burns School of Medicine located at the Kaka'ako Campus in the following activities:</p> <ul> <li>Support quantitative evaluation projects, including instrument development and metric design. </li><li>Collect, clean, manage, and maintain complex datasets, including longitudinal and multi-source data. </li><li>Build and manage surveys and databases using REDCap, Qualtrics, and similar platforms. </li><li>Conduct statistical analyses using SPSS, MPlus, and other tools; assist with data interpretation and reporting. </li><li>Create presentation and promotional material (physical and digital) for conference presentations, newsletters, and websites </li><li>Assist in review of scientific manuscripts, including editing of copy, completeness of references, and appropriateness of abstracts. Prepare manuscripts and other materials for publication and dissemination. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Classified graduate status in good academic standing (minimum 3.0 GPA) at the University of Hawaii Manoa. </li><li>Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Zoom) </li><li>Academic background in quantitative research methods, statistics, or a related field. </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment. </li><li>Must also have working knowledge of general principles of research such as scientific methodology, protection of human subjects, and confidentiality, </li><li>Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to attend meetings away from the office and have strong initiative to identify resources and problem solve. </li></ul> <p>Desirable qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency with SPSS, MPlus, REDCap, and Qualtrics; familiarity with network analysis tools preferred </li><li>Experience in data cleaning, coding, and management. </li><li>Experience working in a postsecondary education setting or programs involving Native Hawaiian and Pacific-island communities </li></ul> <p>To apply:Submit cover letter indicating how you satisfy the minimum and desirable qualifications, resume/curriculum vitae, and the names and contact information (including email addresses) of two (2) references.</p> <p>Inquiries:Ma'ele Norquist email: shernor@hawaii.edu</p> <p>EEO, Clery Act, ADA</p> <p>The University of Hawai'i is an Equal Opportunity Institution and is committed to a policy of nondiscrimination in employment, including on the basis of veteran and disability status.
