<p>Job Description Summary</p> <p>oWe are seeking a Gas Turbine Component Repair Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ownership of repair development and repair qualification of LM2500, LM6000, and LMS100 components. This role involves engineering analysis, preparation of specifications, first time repair development, and substantiation of repair procedures and outcomes. The position requires frequent communication with GE Vernova's internal and external repair facilities and responding to customer inquiries regarding component repairs/repairability.</p> <p>In this role, you will have opportunities to work on various gas turbine aeroderivative models (LM2500, LM6000, LMS100) and modules, including low- & high-pressure compressors, low- & high-pressure turbines, combustors, rotors, structures, and various airfoils. You will use your expertise to solve existing component repair challenges, eliminate repair backlog, and support business objectives by aiding in developing and executing component repair strategies.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Roles and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develop and industrialize Aero Gas Turbine component repairs. </li><li>Design analysis and evaluation of assigned engine components to ensure their operational life and substantiate the define repairability limits. </li><li>Provide oversight and direction for the creation of component CAD models, drawings, and specifications for gas turbine components. </li><li>Develop repair procedures and inspection methods. </li><li>Support repair process qualifications and work with engineering partners to support repair standardization and industrialization. </li><li>Act as the technical focal point for the disposition of component repair Departure Records (DRs) related to your assigned components. </li><li>Participate as a presenter in technical and/or program reviews. </li><li>Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects/tasks in line with engineering policies and procedures. </li><li>Support engineering and business partners to ensure that newly developed repair processes, procedures, limits, etc. are properly incorporated into appropriate shop, vendor, and engineering manuals & documents. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering field of study from an accredited college or university. </li><li>0-2 years of experience working in, with, and/or supporting a manufacturing, Services, repair, or design environment </li></ul> <p>Desired Characteristics</p> <ul> <li>Experience with inspection technologies, including FPI, X-Ray, and Eddy Current. </li><li>Experience with repair special processes, including welding, brazing, thermal spray, heat treat, machining, blending, coating, and surface treatments. </li><li>Strong mechanical design and analytical background </li><li>Strong interpersonal and collaborative team skills. Ability to connect effectively with a broad group of stakeholders. </li><li>Solid oral and written communication skills. </li><li>Gas turbine design knowledge/background. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>The role may require travel up to 20% to internal and external repair vendor sites </li></ul> <p>This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
