Bonide stands tall as a recognized and respected industry leader, reflecting the trust and admiration we have earned from gardening enthusiasts across the country!</p> <p>Role Summary</p> <p>The Product Development (PD) Specialist supports the PD/Regulatory, Marketing and Sales Teams within the Bonide organization. This ranges from coordinating and managing field trials to current and new product trainings. This role will be required to travel to cooperators for studies, industry events and internal Bonide meetings held throughout the year including New Product Meetings at Bonide's headquarters in Oriskany, NY.</p> <p>Duties and responsibilities</p> <p>Product Development</p> <ul> <li>Ideation for new project/product ideas and concepts </li><li>Facilitate thought and development of new concepts for new products. </li><li>Gather needs from customers/market and intel from field sales reps to aide in new product concepts </li><li>Liaise with University researchers and industry cooperators; negotiate compensation for efficacy trials and comparison trials with like products </li><li>Draft EPA-acceptable study protocols for registration and efficacy purposes </li><li>Consult with Regulatory to draft protocols for registration purposes </li><li>Develop comparison efficacy trials for marketing data & sales support </li><li>Work with internal and external formulation teams to build the solution/product needed </li><li>Attend industry meetings - Research focused </li><li>Input new projects into Extranet and maintain field trial budgets </li><li>Agree on new projects for each active ingredient with team - mid year for coming year </li><li>Assign budget request to each project based on protocol for coming year </li><li>Review budget requests for approval and initiate field work </li><li>Manage available budget throughout year </li><li>Maintain budgetary deadlines for receiving final reports and submitting check requests for cooperators </li><li>Submit check requests (with form, protocol, Invoice) to the relevant manager for approvals </li><li>Input required documentation (protocol, contract payment, final report) into Extranet for accounting chargebacks </li></ul> <p>Marketing Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p></p> </li><li>Act as a subject matter expert on behalf of Bonide Products <p></p> </li><li> <p>Develop content for product literature pieces, assisting current Marketing Team</p> </li><li> <p>Write content/material for social media, videos, online blogs, magazine articles, and other items as requested</p> </li><li> <p>Refresh existing literature pieces/items - content only, with marketing team</p> </li><li> <p>Create marketing and sales charts, graphs using trial efficacy data</p> </li><li> <p>Develop "Technical Resource Binders" (TRB) to assist Marketing & Sales Teams for each new product launch, TRB Contents include:</p> </li><li> <p>Active Ingredient background & attributes</p> </li><li> <p>Product introduction/Tech Sheet</p> </li><li> <p>Background, target pests, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Sales Brochure content</p> </li><li> <p>New Product Training - Internal</p> </li><li> <p>New Product Training - External</p> </li><li> <p>Product Efficacy Slides - Data graphs, charts; side by side comparisons</p> </li><li> <p>Features & Benefits content</p> </li><li> <p>Media Talking Points and Content sheet</p> </li><li> <p>Publication pieces - reprints of articles, advertorials</p> </li><li> <p>Trade Show Talking Points Sheet</p> </li><li> <p>Frequently Asked Questions</p> </li><li> <p>Additional Duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Advanced degree in horticulture, agronomy, plant pathology or related science (B.S. required, M.S. or Ph.D. preferred) </li><li>Minimum 5 years' experience working with (training, selling, providing technical support) herbicides, fungicides and insecticides as they relate to and are used in the consumer marketplace </li><li>An entrepreneurial mind interested in creating new and innovative products/solutions for the professional and consumer markets </li><li>Ability to travel 35-40% </li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills </li><li>Strong organizational, time management, prioritization, and decision-making skills </li><li>Project Management skills </li><li>Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with all levels within the organization </li><li>Ability to manage projects independently </li></ul> <p>An essential element of Bonide culture is our commitment to diversity.
