<p>POSITION DESCRIPTION</p> <p>This position will be filled as a part-time appointment (24 hrs. per week)</p> <p>POSITION TITLE</p> <p>STUDENT AFFAIRS SPECIALIST (PART-TIME)</p> <p>LOCATION</p> <p>Gonzales Campus</p> <p>APPOINTMENT</p> <p>Appointed by the Chancellor of the College upon recommendation of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and the Executive Director of Enrollment Management</p> <p>LINE AND STAFF RELATIONSHIPS</p> <p>Directly responsible to the Executive Director of Enrollment Management</p> <p>GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>This is a professional position, charged with managing and assisting with various student services functions. These will include but may not be limited to data collection and dissemination, verification and creation of policy and procedures of Student Services affairs, and original composition of materials and documents for the Executive Director of Enrollment Management. This position will serve as administrative support for all departments within Student Services.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree with a minimum two years' recent experience in a college/university or other professional setting. </li><li>Proficient in MS Office suite. </li><li>Experience in a fast-paced work environment </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills. </li><li>Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail. </li></ul> <p>Additional Qualifications Desired:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>Direct Student Services experience in a higher education setting. </li><li>Experience using a college/university-level student information management system such as Banner. </li><li>Canvas experience </li></ul> <p>PRINCIPAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY </p> <p>Student Services Support & Front Desk Operations - 35%</p> <ul> <li>Function as front counter personnel; provide primary phone support; and assist in appropriate triage of student needs. </li><li>Proactively and positively greet and assist all visitors, students, parents, service workers, and community members. </li><li>Answer routine questions regarding enrollment processes, financial aid, programs of study, and Student Services policies and procedures through email, phone calls, and walk-in traffic. </li><li>Demonstrate the ability to resolve customer issues while maintaining confidentiality of student and parent financial and personal information. </li><li>Provide student ID assistance. </li><li>Maintain current literature and information in lobby areas, student lounge bulletin boards, internal TV monitors, and external marquee communications. </li></ul> <p>Student Records, Data Entry & Communication - 35%</p> <ul> <li>Receive, scan, upload, and process various student records and documentation in accordance with college procedures. </li><li>Enter and maintain prospective student information for walk-in inquiries, incoming calls, and outbound call campaigns within the college database and student systems. </li><li>Conduct outbound call campaigns to prospective and current students regarding admissions, enrollment, registration, retention, and student success initiatives. </li><li>Assist with coordination and dissemination of campus-wide Student Services communications and informational materials. </li></ul> <p>Administrative & Departmental Support - 15%</p> <ul> <li>Acts as administrative liaison to Student Services staff and informs supervisor on matters to be considered. </li><li>Initiate timely completion of supply orders, purchase requisitions, IT support tickets, and routine departmental requests. </li><li>Assist and coordinate closely with campus constituencies across all locations including Academic Affairs, Business Office, Faculty, Administration, Workforce, and WorkReady U to ensure consistency and visibility of communication and services. </li><li>Assist with coordination of student worker duties, training, and schedules. </li></ul> <p>Campus Engagement & Event Support - 10%</p> <ul> <li>Assist with campus tours, open house events, recruitment activities, and other campus events as directed. </li><li>Support student engagement and outreach initiatives sponsored by Student Services. </li></ul> <p>Professional Development & Other Duties - 5%</p> <ul> <li>Facilitate and participate in professional development opportunities. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>About RPCC: </p> <p>River Parishes Community College is an open admission institution that partners with the communities and businesses of the river parishes region of Louisiana to provide workforce training, certificates, diplomas, and Associate Degrees.</p> <p> </p> <p>Please visit our website for more information: www.rpcc.edu. </p> <p> </p> <p>River Parishes Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate degrees.
