<p>This is a substitute position to cover hours as needed in the Senior Services congregate lunch and Meals on Wheels programs. Coverage is needed for staff vacation or sick days. </p> <p>On average substitutes work 10-12 hours per month in the Spring, Fall, and Winter, and 30 hours per month during Summer (June-August). Subs work approximately 200 hours per year.</p> <p>Hours are typically scheduled Monday - Friday between 8:00am - 1:00pm. You may be called in the morning of a shift that needs covered. This is a temporary position that does not include benefits.</p> <p>Hiring Range: $23.34 - $31.58/hour</p> <p>This position is responsible for cooking/food preparation, serving and clearing, room set-ups, and maintenance/cleaning duties for the various food services programs (Meals on Wheels, and Lakeshore Cafe) and special events for 60+ age citizens. Incumbent maintains a safe and welcoming environment for all members of the community, adheres to City and County of Broomfield policies and procedures, complies with and enforces safety procedures, follows Health Department guidelines and rules, and provides information and assistance to City and County staff and the public. </p> <p>(The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job. Examples of duties are not intended to be all-inclusive or restrictive.)</p> <p>General Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assists in cooking, preparation and assembling meals for various food service programs such as Meals on Wheels</p> </li><li> <p>Operates commercial dishwasher: rinse, load, wash and put away dishes, pots and pans, and utensils </p> </li><li> <p>Uses and maintains kitchen tools, commercial equipment and food preparation areas</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains food storage areas, for both refrigerated and non-refrigerated foods, according to county health standards and divisional standards</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains a cleaning schedule for the facility, equipment, and sanitation levels as required by the county health department </p> </li><li> <p>Assists with tracking daily food service program information</p> </li><li> <p>May cover kitchen staff shifts as needed</p> </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED - required </li></ul> <p>Experience </p> <ul> <li>6 months experience required in maintenance/cleaning and food preparation in a commercial kitchen environment. </li></ul> <p>Years of related experience may be substituted for required education, however education cannot be substituted for the necessary work experience. Candidates must meet the minimum required years of work experience.</p> <p>NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS;</p> <p>New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: in-person or virtual interviews, reference checks, background checks including local police check and sex-offender registry. If this position is required to drive a CCOB vehicle a DMV check will be required.</p> <ul> <li>Must be at least 18 years of age. </li><li>Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record for continued employment. </li></ul> <p>Due to the nature of activities, the full range of physical movements is required in this position. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, talk or hear, walk, stoop, reach with arms and hands, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Physical demands are described as medium (exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <ul> <li>Operating an automobile may be required to perform some occasional duties. </li><li>Work requires indoor and may require some outdoor activities. </li><li>The noise level in the environment is moderate to loud. </li></ul>
