<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Orchard Farm School District is seeking a "Long Term Substitute Speech and Language Pathologist" to join our team for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year!</p> <p>Anticipated Long-Term Leave Coverage: January - May (2 leaves, back-to-back)</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>An individual who holds this position must:</p> <ul> <li>Assesses students' communication skills (e.g. articulation, fluency, voice, expressive and receptive language, etc.) for the purpose of identifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility and developing recommendations for treatment. </li><li>Coordinates meetings and processes for eligible students (e.g. testing/screening, IEPs, parent conferences, pre-referral staffing, etc.) for the purpose of presenting evaluation results, developing treatment plans, and/or providing training to parents/students/staff. </li><li>Develops IEPs, interventions and/or educational materials for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of communication disorders in compliance with regulatory requirements. </li><li>Instructs eligible students in the use of appropriate communication technologies (e.g. hearing aids, FM systems, argumentative communication devices, etc.) for the purpose of minimizing the adverse educational impact of communication disorders in accordance with established guidelines and legal requirements </li><li>Instructs assigned support staff for the purpose of providing information on communicative disorders, use of assistive devices and feeding techniques and/or implementing prescribed treatment plans. </li><li>Interprets medical reports within the scope of Speech/Language Pathologist's experience and goals for the purpose of providing information and/or ensuring that treatment/intervention plans are appropriate for school therapy. </li><li>Maintains files and/or records (e.g. progress reports, activity logs, billing information, IEP's, required documentation, quarterly reports, screening results, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of information as required for reference and/or compliance </li><li>Performs site visits at multiple work sites, including home visits for the purpose of providing therapy and assistance as required. </li><li>Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. activity logs, correspondence, memos, IEPs, Medicaid billings, reports, required documentation, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information. </li><li>Responds to inquiries (e.g. parents, teachers, staff, students, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or referral as appropriate. </li><li>Perform other appropriate school-related duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Student Services/Principal. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Duties</p> <ul> <li>In accordance with the Board policies and applicable law. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited four-year College or University. </li><li>Must hold a Missouri Certification for Speech & Language </li><li>Complete CPI certification (training provided by district) </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities</p> <p>An individual who holds this position must have the ability to:</p> <ul> <li>Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions. </li><li>Writes clearly and informatively; able to read and interpret written information. </li><li>Focuses on solving conflict; maintains confidentiality; remains open to others' ideas and viewpoints. </li><li>Maintains composure, keeps emotions in check, controls anger, and avoids aggressive behavior, even in difficult and stressful situations. </li><li>Exhibits sound and accurate judgment, supports and explains reasoning for decisions. </li><li>Basic computer skills including experience with word processing software, spreadsheet software, development software and the Internet. Additionally, individuals will utilize standard office equipment such as copiers, printers and telephone systems. </li><li>Must communicate appropriately with students, staff, and parents </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, grasp, feel, push, and reach </li><li>May have to use physical restraint or personal safety techniques </li><li>The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds </li><li>Must have both close and distance vision and be able to hear voices in a noisy environment </li></ul> <p>Conditions and Environment</p> <p>The individual who holds this position will regularly work in a school environment that is noisy and active.</p> <p>Salary</p> <p>This would be a long term hourly leave rate</p> <p>You are navigating off of REAP site to the district's posting.</p> <p>OK</p>
