<p>What will I be doing?</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assists and acts in the absence of the Director of Engineering to oversee the functionality and safety of the facility, including the physical buildings, mechanical equipment, electrical system/s, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems and grounds in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in directing general construction and the installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical, mechanical and architectural systems throughout the facility to ensure operational efficiency and safety.</p> </li><li> <p>Assigns, verifies and documents the completion of all routine maintenance and repairs in the property maintenance management system.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates with city/county/state officials to ensure the proper maintenance of permits and licenses, to coordinate required inspections and to ensure full compliance with codes, regulations and safety standards to protect the well-being of all guests and team members.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in the execution of capital projects and property rehabilitations.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff.</p> </li></ul> <p>Other core functions of the position, include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure maintenance of tools and equipment in safe working condition</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain records of types and frequency of maintenance</p> </li><li> <p>Make approved purchases of supplies, equipment and services</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain inventory</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct regular safety inspections of the property</p> </li></ul> <p>Hyatt associates work in an environment that demands exceptional performance yet reaps great rewards. This is the Hyatt Touch.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>5 years or more of progressive hotel or building management experience (typically with Hyatt)</p> </li><li> <p>Engineering/Facility Management degree preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Must have experience operating high pressure Steam Boilers, Chillers, HVAC systems - mandatory</p> </li><li> <p>Engineering degree/diploma preferred or journeyman</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills: highly organized, results oriented with the ability to be flexible, and to work well under pressure, strong level of initiative required</p> </li><li> <p>Strong technical abilities with Microsoft programs and familiarization with computerized maintenance systems an asset</p> </li><li> <p>Leads by example by displaying a high standard of performance with the ability to communicate these expectations to the team to achieve above expectation results</p> </li><li> <p>Must be highly safety conscious and actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment throughout the Hotel</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in a unionized labor setting an asset</p> </li><li> <p>Previous leadership experience in a similar role required</p> </li><li> <p>Proven ability to oversee multiple projects with a focus on results</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills</p> </li><li> <p>Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills</p> </li><li> <p>Highly responsible and reliable with exceptional attention to details</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work cohesively as part of a team</p> </li></ul>
