<p>Position: House Manager - Transitional Living Community</p> <p>Reports to: Program Director</p> <p>Work Location: East New York, Brooklyn;</p> <p>Located on 3rd floor with no elevator access</p> <p>Job Type: Full time 35 hours per week</p> <p>Available schedule: Nights Tuesday - Saturday: 4:00pm -12:00am)</p> <p>Salary Range: $36,000 - $36,000</p> <p>Program Summary:</p> <p>BCSs Transitional Living Community (TLC), a 30 bed section of the Brooklyn Womens Shelter in</p> <p>East New York, Brooklyn, was established in 1989. TLC provides homeless, low-income, mentally ill</p> <p>women with temporary shelter and assistance to secure permanent housing. TLC recruits its clients</p> <p>primarily from the assessment unit of the Brooklyn Womens Shelter. Staff conduct comprehensive</p> <p>assessments to identify women with severe and persistent mental illness, many also having serious</p> <p>personal, social, medical and economic problems. A principle feature of the TLC program is the</p> <p>milieu treatment in which women are helped to practice the skills they will need to live successfully</p> <p>outside the shelter system, including pre-vocational preparation.</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>Provide consistent, high quality program service delivery to all clients populations in accordance with funder and regulatory requirements; best practices; BCS policies and Core Values; and Code of Conduct for Custodians of People with Special Needs . This includes program coverage and attend to individual client needs during scheduled shift including reception activities, answering phones and directing calls and assist all clients with self-administered medication. Serve as a role model to all stakeholders.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide program coverage and attend to individual client needs during scheduled shift </li><li>Conduct reception activities, including answering phones and directing calls. </li><li>Assist all clients with self-administered medication by providing access to all prescribed </li></ul> <p>medication at appropriate times, encouraging correct use of medication, logging medication</p> <p>taken, and assuring proper storage in locked area.</p> <ul> <li>Provide light food to clients if needed with medication, in accordance with DOHMH Food </li></ul> <p>Standards</p> <ul> <li>Report serious incident to TLC management and complete and incident report </li><li>Ensure Client Adhere to COVID standards and requirements. </li><li>Document all activities in logbook and medication logbook for issues requiring intervention </li></ul> <p>and alert appropriate staff</p> <ul> <li>Assist with facilitating admissions as needed </li><li>Work with HELP Womens Center to ensure TLC bed sign-in sheets are appropriately </li></ul> <p>completed</p> <ul> <li>Interact with clients in therapeutic manner and attend to their needs and requests according </li></ul> <p>to program policies</p> <ul> <li>Assist with oversight of laundry room schedule and assisting clients in learning proper use of </li></ul> <p>laundry facilities</p> <ul> <li>Facilitate pack outs for all client who curfew violates and prepare the area for a new intake </li><li>Collect new clients demographics information in the evenings </li><li>Other related tasks as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Required: HIgh School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>One year experience working with homeless and/or mentally disabled populations preferred. </li><li>F80 Preferred </li><li>Previous experience working in residential direct care helpful. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and boundaries with clients </li><li>Must undergo pre-employment screenings such as the Criminal Background Check required by DOHMH </li></ul> <p>BCS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
