<p>POSITION TITLE: Processing Specialist</p> <p>COMPENSATION RANGE: 53,000.00 - 55,620.00 USD per year</p> <p>EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Professional Administrative</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Admissions Office</p> <p>TARGET HIRE DATE: 7/1/2025</p> <p>BENEFITS: UNC's Career Hub</p> <p>To ensure full consideration, applications must be received by 11:59pm (MT) on 05/20/2025.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>This position is primarily responsible for processing all applications for freshman, transfer, second bachelor, Aims2UNC, Project CLIMB, GOAL Program, graduate non-degree seeking, undergraduate non-degree seeking, Teacher Mentor, Dual Enrollment, and Concurrent Enrollment. In addition, this position manually processes all corresponding transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, and other relevant documents as well as major changes, residency updates, confirmation deposits/waivers, exit forms, term changes, and troubleshoots issues that can arise with each of these tasks. This position will make admission decisions based on the CDHE guidelines and institutional standards. In addition, this position will answer phone calls and emails from parents, students, high school counselors, UNC recruitment team, faculty, and staff.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <p>Process and manage all UG and NDV admission records in Slate, Banner, and Xtender. (60%)</p> <ul> <li>Accurately enters data and processes applications for admission (e.g. domestic undergraduate first-year, transfer, second bachelor's, and all NDV applications including Aims2UNC, UG and GR non-degree seeking, Project CLIMB, GOAL Program, Teacher Mentor, Dual Enrollment, Concurrent, Enrollment) in Slate and Banner </li><li>Evaluate and process all corresponding transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, and other relevant documents in Xtender and Slate for data relevant to admission decision and processing </li><li>Reviews decision recommendations and determines admission decision for students who do not meet predetermined admission requirements </li><li>Determines residency, ensures 100% accuracy of both databases (Banner and Slate) by determining if application information is correct and deciding which operational process to perform </li><li>Evaluates and recommends changes or further reviews of procedures to guarantee correct student record data utilized by multiple campus offices </li></ul> <p>Processing Information Updates and Quality Control (20%)</p> <ul> <li>Enter and change all data in Slate and/or Banner when processing request forms. This includes major changes, term changes, withdrawing/declining applications, confirmation deposit waivers, evaluating new data and determining merit scholarship changes </li><li>Ensures 100% accuracy of both databases (Banner and Slate) by determining if record data is correct and deciding which operational process to perform. </li><li>Evaluates and recommends changes or further reviews of procedures to guarantee correct student record data utilized by multiple campus offices </li></ul> <p>Customer Service (15%)</p> <ul> <li>Provide customer service for incoming calls and emails from applicants, students, parents, faculty, admissions counselors, high school counselors, Bear Central partners, Aims2UNC advisors, Aims registrar partners, UNC Athletics, IM&T, CRM staff, and others </li></ul> <p>Assist GR and INTL processors (5%)</p> <ul> <li>Assist the unit with processing other applications, forms or processes </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree preferred </li><li>Minimum one year experience in data processing required, experience in enrollment management/enrollment operations and student information systems is highly preferred. On the job training will include Banner, Slate CRM, and training in admissions processes </li></ul> <p>Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Computer skills (MS Office), CRM, and working with student information systems (Banner) </li><li>Excellent oral and written English skills, </li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail </li><li>Outstanding interpersonal and social skills </li><li>Ability to problem-solve </li><li>Ability to interact cooperatively and sensitively with staff and individuals from other cultures, ethnic groups, lifestyles and backgrounds </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>Benefits available include health, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement plans for all full-time positions. Employees at UNC receive sick leave, and other leave options may be available based on position. Full-time employees are eligible to receive tuition waiver benefits, as well as dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed at 0.5 FTE or above are eligible for undergraduate dependent tuition grants of up to 50%. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist.
